Don't want item I've succesfully bid on

For one reason and another I don't want to buy an item anymore that I've successful bid on.
I've recieved the invoice from the seller but am holding off paying for it ('bought' item yesterday evening) as don't know what to do.
What will happen if I pull out now?

You have entered in to a contract to buy the item so you should really go ahead and send the payment. What is the item and did you get a good deal on it?
You have a couple of choices :
1) proceed with the payment
1 i) keep the item
1 ii) re-sell the item
2) don't send payment, get an unpaid item strike against your name and a negative feedback (not really all that big a deal unless you relish a spotlessly clean history on eBay)
I've done number two twice before for various reasons. It's not a nice thing to do but sometimes you just have to.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Not much to be honest really. You will receive a non paying bidder strike, two or more of these, and most sellers will have you automatically blocked from bidding on their auctions.0

When you bid you 'contract' to buy the item if you win. You could try and contact the seller but you are obliged now to buy.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

Why don't you contact the seller and say you've changed your mind, apologise for the inconvenience and appeal to their better nature. If they agree you can mutually withdraw. Hope it works out.0

Offering to pay the seller's fees will go some way to making up for the hassle. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

Sellers can't neg buyers these days, just the other way round.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Yeah thanks guys, I've paid for the item because I realised that I can't get out of it and it is my fault as I should have given it more thought before buying.
The item is a dress so I'll see if it fits my friend (I've realised that it wont probably fit me) and if not I'll sell it on.....

You may find you get more back from it if you sell it on anyway.
This happened to me a few months back when I won a coat that I didnt like the style of once I received it. I re-listed & it sold for about £15 more then I paid for it!0 -

The same happened to me. I bought a GORGEOUS pair of silver starburst sandals for £2.40, couldn't walk in them
so re-listed them a couple of months later and got £28!!!! Couldn't believe it! .•
