I have managed to get on via mozilla firefox with no problems
Having same problems here. Eventually got on by a link from an email to my pm, as someone had sent me a pm.
Is it just a problem on aol?0 -
Yes,
It is just those people using AOL with the aol software and unfortunately there is nothing we can do at this end.
This *may* help
To clear the browser cache (on aol software):
1. On the Settings menu on the AOL toolbar, click Preferences.
2. In the Organization section of the Preferences window, click Internet properties (WWW).
3. In the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Files.
4. Click OK
Thanks

No its not restricted to AOL users as it happens to me all the time and I would never subscribe to AOL.
For me the most successful solution is to delete the cached style sheets (css files). But this doesnt always work which leads me to think it some combination of the style sheets, my work proxy server and the MSE website.
Pretty vague diagnosis but maybe if the MSE website does the old force cache refresh in the meta tags it might help some users?0 -
I am with bulldog and had this problem a few times last week, when using mozilla firefox, although it was fine with internet explorer
it rectified itself when I delted all my cookies and cache, and saved form info (a pain..but hey!)Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
I've been having similar problems on the forums for 2-3 weeks now but I'm not sure if they are the same. Occasionally everything is ok but more often than not, I can't use thanks buttons, the page loads with mainly writing (and looks like my son's screen does since he's switched off his active content completely). My posts end up in one long paragraph even if I do seperate ones and I can't use smilies or anything like that. It can happen intermittently whilst using the site too which is both weird and very confusing! This problem only exists on MSE too. I don't know if this is any help but this is what it says at the bottom of the page as I write this. You may post new threadsYou may post repliesYou may not post attachmentsYou may edit your posts
vB code is OnSmilies are On[IMG]code is OnHTML code is Off. I'm on XP with IE 6 and use the inbuilt firewall and EZarmour antivirus. Any ideas or help with this would be great as it's driving me nuts!! Whoops - missed off this! I downloaded and ran hijack this after seeing it advised to another MSE'er and this is the report incase it's any help to you.
