yes my ipod touch has apparently recovered from a dip in the sink - 3 weeks in an airtight box of rice - just got it up and running again yesterday and so far it seems fine0

Only a story i heard but may be of help
Apparantley earlier in the year Apple were having to replace a lot of IPhones due to the casing cracking around the charging port.
The story was that someone took a water damaged one into an Apple store and they can tell by the red light but luckily he was offered a new phone because the casing was cracked
May be clutching at straws but may be worth considering
Maybe someone can confirm the cracking problem0
