seems the average auction site price they are selling for is between £35-40
plus postage of around a tenner.0 -

Go to the lower level and hang by the doors, a kindly sales assistant will hopefully point you towards their 'grand entrance'0 -
Well after the heads up about Braehead Boots yestyerday lunch time I called them and they said at 1pm there were not many left and it would take me ano hour to get there so I would prob miss out!
I asked about reserve and collect (as mentioned by pp) but SA said they couldn't do that
The SA then asked how many I wanted - I was going to buy 2 but decided I only NEEDED 1 so I said 1 and she said as a favour she would keep it by for me!! And when I got there i was to go straight to the Estee lauder counter!
When I got there I seen the look of relief on their faces! They were sooooo worried I wouldn't show up and they would be found out! Apparently everyone had been told it is a BIG no no to put these boxes away for people! The box was wrapped in 4 MASSIVE Boots bags!
Chrismtas Spirit was certainly with the Estee lauder girls!! Wooo - I love my hat box - can't wait to use it!!
Again thank you for the heads up!!

I stayed up till 3pm, and my ordered box will be ready on Wednesday . So obviously I happened across a giant stack of hatboxes at the Reading Oracle before closing Sunday . And Hubby made me buy another one! Poor me :rotfl:. I'm gonna look like a prized poopy head when I pick up specially reserved box and there are stacks of them next to the tills.
...
Are you kidding me? I called the Oracle Sunday morning, no answer. So called Broad Street, and they had none and told me they knew the Oracle wouldn't have gotten a delivery Saturday night and that there were no stores in Berkshire that had any left. Then I called the Oracle again just to doublecheck, no one answered any extension until I tried pharmacy as a last-ditch effort. She said they had none but might just maybe get a delivery on Monday. And the person I called at CS Saturday said there was no more. What bs!!! It would've been so much cheaper to buy in store (no shipping, and using my double points voucher and 150 points if you spend 20 quid), and less drama in the end.
What's really annoying is that, true to form, you can never rely on Boots.0 -

I had put one of the eBay sales on my watch list just out of curiosity as to what these things were going for by the time an auction ended, and it went for 27 quid and 9.95 shipping. Which means that after eBay fees, paypal fees and shipping cost, the person probably broke even or maybe made a quid or so. So at least some of these people are finding their efforts aren't amounting to much. Ooh, unless it was someone who got a staff or senior discount, I guess then maybe they made an extra quid or two. Still not much for lugging hatboxes around, lol0 -
They have some at Sheffield Fargate NOW but they're going very quickly ...0

The hatbox label peels off without damaging the box - well mine did last night (I was being v. careful!) - so you could do that if you are saving one to give as a birthday present next year.0
