How much 'treat' money do you allow yourself?

Like a lot of people on here, me and OH take out £10 p.w. cash at the start of the month for spending on treats for ourselves. It's nice feeling we have cash in our wallets but knowing we can't overspend (generally leave bank cards at home). Also we tend not to spend because we know that once it's gone we've no 'treats' money left until next month.0

Biggest expenditures are prob on music, maybe a few cds a month (cdwow!), the odd cinema trip, maybe eat out a cple times a month too. Dunno, thats about it tbh. Materialism aint all that, life is much better if you concentrate on other rewarding activities, whether career success, building relations, simple hobbies, etc.
I hope you are getting your Quidco cash back from CDWOW!!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...

Last month we went to the cinema. This month we went to the theatre (£10 each Travelex tickets at the National) and had a meal after at Wagamammas for £27. Things are going to get tighter now, large salary cut looming. I allow myself about a tenner every couple of weeks. Don't get out of the house much due to my job so every so often I get out a tenner and spend it.
Always feel more guilty when I buy something online than when I've got the cash in my hand and watching it go down. FUnny huhDFW Nerd no 239.....Last Personal Debt paid off Nov 2012!

A treat for me is to buy a book either from ASDA or a charity shop!!!
In so much debt I have to watch every penny, but everyone needs a treat to keep you going!0 -
Am in a better position to treat myself now, but I still buy clothes & books in charity shops, and prefer to buy on Ebay when I've sold stuff - then Im spending free money from my Paypal account!
I would reckon I spend £100 a month on treats (but it's probably nearer to £200, being realistic!) My 2 DS's are growing up & fleeing the nest, so the housekeeping is coming down, as are the phone gas & leccy bills!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I try and never spend any actual money on treats - but I do mystery shopping work P/T and get a few 'treats' out of that and I get boots vouchers from pigsback and combining them with boots glitches do end up getting about £20 worth of treats a month out of that - I also fill in surveys and get treats from amazon and sometimes get the odd voucher out of it which I also spend on treats. I also get every freebie going!!
I feel now that I'm happier and get more 'treats' than I did when I was spending lots. I make sure that I have time out and pamper myself with my boots treats regualry though and I'm also healthierStart every day by telling yourself how beautiful and intelligent you are0 -
ms_london wrote:But for the latter I had at least £50 a week for food & other bits, which sounds like loads in comparison to what others spend, so I apologise :0( - I am spending the same at the moment, but must admit that this week I have wasted that on food - lunch, food for evening meal, snacks - not even proper grocery shopping & I'm discusted (not to mention a bit fatter!!)
I bet your still looking as gorgeous as ever though!
