How much 'treat' money do you allow yourself?

Like Lynz, I don't really allow myself 'treat money'. I give myself £10 a week 'emergency money such as parking (which is usually claimed back from work anyway) etc.
I don't smoke but do like my wine, so suppose that could be seen as my treat, but I only ever buy it when it's 3 for £10, unless I've had a really, really bad day!
I also count haircuts as treats (just had a leaflet for 1/2 price at local salon) so that'll be my 'treat', plus my hair looks like Worzel Gummidge's wig at the moment!!!Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!0 -

Although in saying that I do "do stuff" but its usually of the DFW variety.
I do smoke, that is my treat.
I buy bargain clothes when I see them ( they must be under a fiver or tough)
I think a haricut is a treat, which I havent had one since before Xmas *ashamed*
Ive sold most of my previous "i deserve a treat" stuff on ebay, it was stuff I ddint need, never used and was a waste of money
I feel like a right sad case is my treat this week will be me paying off 85 of my b/card.
Lyn you are so much like me I could have written that. I haven't had a haircut since before christmas either, even then it was because I was in visiting OH parents in Canada (they paid for us to go, grandmother was 90) and everything is so cheap over there I got a haircut for £9! My hair is really long though so it doesn't matter too much.
I honestly can not remember the last time I allowed myself actual treat money besides the haircut. Tell a lie, I got a curly wirly for 10p at a boot sale a couple of weeks ago. So that beats the arctic roll LOL:A

I don't have a set budget for treats either. It's all relative what a 'treat' is though, to one person phone credit is a treat, to another it is a must.
Similarly one person might spend £50 on a treat but if they owe very little and have a large salary that probably isn't a problem.
I do a lot of my food shopping at M&S but I get discount there so it often works out cheaper than other places.
I probably spend about £25 a week. That includes my food shopping, toiletries, communal things for the house. I could cut it down if I really wanted but I'm happy with the way things are going with getting my credit cards paid off.
Sometimes I feel a bit guilty for spending as I do on food but I have become much better with the help of the old style board and what I spend on food I don't spend in other areas.
For example, I don't really drink a lot but I will buy myself a bottle of some kind of spirit such as vodka or Malibu. Depends on how flush I am feeling I will get the real thing or a copy version.
I don't smoke, rarely go out these days (through choice), can't stand clothes shopping or shoe shopping so will only replace something as and when something is on its last legs.0 -
I get 100 pounds a month, usually beer money
I use this to see my friends and keep my life interesting
I value nights out a lot more now and usually spend a tenner0 -
Try and meet with friends on a regular basis, occasionally buy ourselves a 'bargain', but trying to declutter so this puts me off buying a lot of things these days.0

I don't really have a set amount, my salary varies by about £200 each month. On the low months I scrape by, on the good months I spend. But I am thinking about budgeting that a bit more, I could be putting my bonuses to better use I thinkDFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kitten

I used to give myself £250 a month pre lightbulb days and when I was earning >£25k p.a.
And I pretty much squandered it all on crap.
Now it's nothing at all and I have to budget in everything I need to spend money on which isn't food/house essential.
I have a haircut & colour every two months (hair is quite long and I can get away with it....but the greys always find me out!). I also get very dry & sore/split cuticles unless I get them looked at regulalry so I go for a cheap & cheerful manicure once a month too.
Apart from those two things, I think that's it. It really makes me focus on what I am spending my money on....I even umm & arrr over £2 in a charity shop these days cos if I don't need it or it looks rubbish, I ask myself "why buy it?"Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

I got a bar of chocolate yesterday as a treat. It's still in the fridge and i'm really really really looking forward to eating it later. It's little things like that for me. Keeps me happy!January budget

i allow myself £3.00 a week for 'extras' at work ie chocolate/cans etc etc and then i spend £3.20 on an online game per month. Other than that i rerely buy anything for me
but then a lot of my income is saved and put towards learning to drive so thats all 'me' :rotfl: 0
