How much 'treat' money do you allow yourself?

I have £130 a month for treats. This includes going out/buying clothes etc.
bought myself a "treat" on ebay, not having a holiday this year so bought a designer bikini for the pricely sum of £2.19!!!
at least i'll look stylish in my mums garden
If i really want a treat i buy a nice hair mask and face mask and pamper myself for the evening

I dont really have treats but I did buy some beer for the 3 of us for the England game tonight and I sometimes buy wine on special offer. We have chocolate but sadly it has been part of our diet for a very long time. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I probably spend about £100-£150 a month on myself.
I would rather enjoy it aswell rather than pay it off the debts. In 3 years time I don't want to look back and wonder what happened to those years of my life! At least this way I'm paying off my debt but allowing myself to live aswell.

I don't set aside an amount for treats, if we have a bit more at the end of the month, and that is after all payments etc, then i treat myself to a magazine or a CD or some cheap craft bits.
Again i use the freebies board and at the moment one of my treats is being paid by quidco for watching lots of great DVD's on the free trails:D
My other treat is going to all the great free exhibitions in london at the moment.
As for haircuts i also haven't had one since the start of last december.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

Toto wrote:Lyn you are so much like me I could have written that. I haven't had a haircut since before christmas either, even then it was because I was in visiting OH parents in Canada (they paid for us to go, grandmother was 90) and everything is so cheap over there I got a haircut for £9! My hair is really long though so it doesn't matter too much.
I honestly can not remember the last time I allowed myself actual treat money besides the haircut. Tell a lie, I got a curly wirly for 10p at a boot sale a couple of weeks ago. So that beats the arctic roll LOL
Axtually ooops Ive just remembered that I bought some of those special BBQ tongs, poky fork thing and flipper as OH keeps burning himself when he is catering. Thats a treat, and they cost £2 from poundstretcher.
And to think how wasteful I used to be  I really appreciate the small stuff now, and its just makes my life so much more, well, nicer
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

I have a weekly budget of £40 to cover anything that's not a DD, food or petrol. It gets used for DS clothes/shoes, birthdays, car parking, leaving collections at work, dentist, MOT, haircuts and BOGOFs/offers that I will use in the long run (like washing liquid an extra 87p off at Wilkos, so got 2 for stock).
All months are planned out so I know which ones are going to be tight, the ones where I come under, I throw the rest at the debt or sometimes carry over to a tight month. Though I did have a £25 surplus recently that I earmarked for clothes shopping, but couldn't bring myself to spend it - it went to a cc instead!
I guess my treats are eyebrow shape (keep the hedgerows at bay
) at £4 a month, garden costs (bedding plants/compost) and taking DS swimming at £5 a fortnight. Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -

well i was not really spending any on me but i burnt out bout 2 months ago! and now have revolutionised my living. I now spend £250 a month on debts, the rest is mine which results in about 500 squid. At the moment i am paying £120 for three months on my season ticket, £85 a month on an xbox 360 (buying my bros) and of on a road trip to holland in July!!!
so there, slightly of the bandwagon!

Blimey, I've heard of saving but this takes the biscuit!.. a few freebies won't do it for me unfortunately I'd have to be permanently medicated for that lol0
