Morning all.
No rain here yet, but due tonight I think. I have come down with this horrible cold , nose running like a tap, sore throat, sneezing and coughing. Which is B****y typical, as OH and I intend to clear the garden and shed today, my bil has a workshop, with a lock up container, and he said we can store what we want in there for now, so will empty the shed, and take all my garden pots up there, and maybe the attic too.
I still haven't heard from the mortgage lady, she was on a course yesterday afternoon, I shall ring her at 9, fingers crossed. Not 100% sure if we should actually be moving anything, but if it does all happen it will be a quick move i think, so want to try and get as much done as possible.
Tea tonight is nabs, nice bread, cheese, ( I got a whole brie in Mr T half price :T) ham, etc, shove it all on the table and help yourself.
I am glad Gino won the jungle, I really did not like Kim, not a nice woman at all.
I went to bed at 10 last night cos I felt so rough, and so was awake at 4 this morning and every hour after
Going to have a load of fresh fruit for my breakfast give myself a vitamin boost.
Hester, hope the minder gets on ok at the new job :T
Wm is on with the first of three loads, will hang it out for a while as its nice blue skys at the moment.
Have fun all xx0 -

Morning All
Redruby - don't over do it - get well soon.
Tru - I sound miserable but when I get a wedding invitation my heart sinks, I only like to go if they are close friends or family.
Had the most productive day yesterday than I have had for ages. All the bathrooms cleaned, all bedding done & ironing pile is nil. However doing loads of washing today so the mountain will be back later. Aim today is thoroughly clean the front room so we can put our decs up.
Went to DS School Xmas fete yesterday, was very busy as usual but pleased as managed to get a nice bracelet for DD's best friend - treated myself and DD to one as well.
Had a leisurely morning so far but going to get dressed and get on in a minute - first job last nights washing up  did leave it in soak so won't be too bad but can't wait for the DW to be fixed.
Hope to make some chocolate brownies today when I get all the boring jobs done.
Have a great Saturday.x0 -
Good Morning Chums, started off looking a bit damp but seems to have brightened up a little, but the forecast isn't good, and I don't think I will chance a wash load today.Just stripped my bed, well half of it, as my DD will change the duvet tomorrow as its a bit hard to do when only one arm works to full capacity.I am just about to sit and 'tweak' my essay a bit as its due into Canterbury on Monday for marking.I only have to bung in a few quotes here and there. Our tutor is excellent, she rough marks it for us, then after its been re-arranged a tad she will send it off to be marked.
Then if I get that all done I shall sit and write out my Chistmas cards as I now have unearthed them from the spare room where I had put them away for safe keeping last February.Apart from dropping one of my grandsons to a party at lunchtime I am not going anywhere near the shops today as it will be manic. The roads round here will be busy anyway as its Dickens weekend in the Medway and that draws thousands of people from all over the world.
Tomorrow I am going to Greenwich for a MSE meet at lunchtime and I'm looking forward to that.Hope the parking's not too clogged up.
Right off to tweak my Peterloo massacre essay.Have a great day everyone, what ever you get up to be safe
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Morning peeps
I slept on the sofa last night as i just couldn`t face all the mess scattered around everywhere.
Doggies are walked and i ran DH to work, needed to ring him as soon as i got back home and discovered that he has left his phone here on charge from last night
I`m trying not to have my usual umpteen cups of tea this morning as there are no doors upstairs atm and no frames either. The joiner is here and is banging around upstairs so the loo is out of bounds for a while.
Just listing a few bits on freecycle and waiting for the plasterer to come and drop some materials off so i`m a bit stuck really.
Think i shall do next weeks meal planner and then see if i can sneak upstairs to look for the ironing board, i`ve had to wash all the clothes that were drying on the upstairs radiators as they were dusty from the doorframes being taken out last night, DH was supposed to have put them away but managed to forget. I am sooooo looking forward to starting the big clean up operation upstairs tomorrow, the house feels like it belongs to someone else atm and i``m sick to death of it now
My shiny new cooker is sitting at the back of the room where i can see it :j its lovely and i`m really looking forward to using ithopefully in a week it should be connected up and i can have a play around with it
Bitsy your advent calendar is fab, i`ve never seen one as lovely as that.
Redruby - What are nabs? I always call our old doggies tablets nabs lol
Money mission - Welcome, i enjoyed reading your post yesterday.
N9eav - Enjoy your time off! three weeks is fantastic!
Right i`m off to meal plan
Have a nice day peeps.

Good morning all. I'm sitting in bed with the laptop and another cup of tea. I love not having to get up for Youth Orchestra on a Saturday morning. I came off the committee after having served almost 10 years I think, but suggested that DH went on! He's music librarian and a regular helper getting stuff out, so he can do his turn. DS only got another 18 months or so to go now.
It's quiet in the house, should be taking the opportunity to go down there and get stuff done, but I just keep telling myself that I need to listen to my body and get going when I feel like it! LOL! I did fetch dh his brekkie to bed when I went down to get some milk for our cuppa.
I shan't have much breakfast, as MIL is taking us out for lunch today. Youth Orchestra concert tonight. Bit of a MS day, as MIL pays for lunch and I'm a vice-president at Youth Orchestra as a result of long service, so get free tickets for the concert for 2, so MIL is invited. DH is stage managing so he won't pay either!
I have the end of my paying sewing to do, need to do some clearing up as well, get the laundry started, make some burgers for the freezer and put a loaf on for later. I also want to try and make a spreadsheet which will reflect all outgoings at any particular time, instead of sitting with a calculator and thinking, 'well that's gone, there's X on the credit card and we have to allow such and such to pay this'. I figure I should be able to do an excell sheet where i can add stuff and remove it when it's cleared accounts etc.
Need to do a very careful shop at Aldi for fruit, veg and milk. Still got some ££ left as signature indicates, but it's going to be a very close call. Some list making and big planning needs to be done. Will make a start on Xmas stuff again when I have my chair covering under control.
DH home for the w/e, but went out for a beer with his walking buddy last night. I did the run to school for first half of concert and then took the lads to rest of band rehearsal. Will have to take to Liverpool in the morning for rehearsal. Another concert for that one next weekend. Also band concert next weekend. School one the week after that.
That's me for today. Well for now. Have a good day all of you.
Dd arrives home from Uni in 2 weeks, so looking forward to that."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Morning all!
Cold and grey outside, friend just told me it's snowing where she is, then I remembered she's currently living in Mississipi (sp?)!
Will be taking the dog out and then probably heading off to the shops, kids want to get a few bits, and they need to get their dad something too. Spoke to him last night and we are sharing the cost of their big pressies and each buying them smaller bits - not sure if this is what others do, but I think it's a good idea as it stops them getting too spoiled, and he thinks it's a good idea as he doesn't want Christmas to become a competition - sometimes I wonder how well he ever knew me, did he never notice my bargain hunting, money saving ways!!!! Anyway, at least a decision has been made now! dd1 has decided she'd like an ipod nano as it takes videos, not buying it just yet, as she is prone to changing her mind!
Oven was fitted last night and works and looks very spiffing! Just need to plane one of the plinths as whilst it was the same size as the old one, it sticks up more at the top and has a small gap underneath! Still at least I now have a working oven and can get on with some more baking, especially the ninjabread men I've been going on about forever now! Celyn, hope you don't mind but I've pinched one of your pics on fb for a friend who wanted to make some - she has plans to shock the southern belles with her English ways at the school fair lol!
My laptop has died, got a new charger, but think that the bit that the charger plugs into is knackered as well! So hopefully will get it into the repair shop and it'll be cheap and easy to sort out! Ha ha! Currently pinched dd1's laptop, will be okay for a while as she is still in bed!
Why does everything break at once? And at Christmas or whenever you could do without the expense?! Still I got a fairly good deal on the oven I guess, and that was a necessity, laptop will have to wait if it's expensive, that isn't a necessity, well not really!
OS stuff today will involve cooking I think! Some cleaning will take place too, but prob not a huge amount, washing will be on the go as always! Lunch will be whatever anyone grabs for themselves, dinner could well be a roast chicken (nice big chucks at 2 for 8 quid - can't find pound sign on this pooter!), then we can try out the oven properly! No doubt a good few things will get burnt, as the old oven wasn't cooking at the proper temp and the door was broken! Actually it's surprising it lasted as long as it did!
btw picked up a Matsui ipod docking radio thing in currys yesterday, reduced from #30 to #5, absolute bargain, and a pressie for me for the kitchen so I can bop and sing whilst cooking!
Hope everyone has a good day, going to make a cuppa and have a read through now if I can keep the computer lol! xx
ps thrify - now addicted to the blog with the photos you mentioned yesterday, aren't they brilliant!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Morning all
Been to Tesco's, we were there by 7, it's nice & quiet at that time. I used up my b'day voucher which knocked £50 of the bill. The cupboards are full to the brim.
OS today, I'm defrosting the freezers, I have 2 little 4 drawer ones, I'm also sorting out tall food cupboard & having a book blitz. I need to tidy the living room so I can get the tree up tomorrow. Also need to get washing done & dried.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
