  • I think it depends on who you get when the phone is answered.

When my son's renewal was made, and he was classed as an adult, they still told me over the phone, as they could do the basic security checks.
So I thought the strictness had been relaxed.

I remember a few years ago, a chap said 'I can't tell you if your child has been awarded dla, but you will be pleasently surprised!'

Try again, just so your not anxious over the weekend, you may get someone nice.

I don't think my spell checker is working..hmmm:rolleyes:
  • thanks m-n-c

I will leave it........its probably another battle to be fought with government agencies!!!

Everyone has told me that it should be no problem.......but!! There is always one who will say no......

I am expecting the worst and hoping for the best!!

Hi ace1066, I sent my renewal form on 19th October and received a letter saying they had received my claim and a couple of weeks later received a letter saying that they hadn't made a decision and had written to my GP.

As you know, on the form it states that if you haven't heard anything after 8 weeks you can contact them. It is a stressful time but I will not be contacting them until 8 weeks have past, but I am hoping to hear before then.

I sent my first claim in on 26/10 and have heard nothing yet, they did ring me a couple of weeks after submitting it to check details, and I received a letter in November to say they were contacting my GP, but still awaiting a decision.
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
