Well, what does the 02 checker say you will get?
In my experience O2 are a bit conservative on speeds, you may end up with a bit more than the estimate.
However, line length is still the limiting factor, be it ADSL Max or ADSL2+.

What did it say? It's possibly because your (new) BT number is not yet recognised. If so, try again in 24 hours.

Macman how can that be if BT'S ADSL Checker has recognised my number? Don't they get the information from the same place?
It said BT could not confirm the distance i am away from the exchange so it couldnt give me a reading.

    People,
You are all forgetting it's not only distance but the age & condition of the drop cable from the exchange to the master socket.

The predicted line speeds are not always accurate. I would wait until you've been connected for a few weeks before you start crying. If you can reach 2MBits then that should be sufficient for most purposes.

If you can achieve a downstream attentuation of about 50 or less and a noise margin under 10dB then you will likely be ok.

    Good luck
