My eldest has always asked why & I have (as far as possible) always tried to answer. It drove me mad when MIL who we don't see very often just moaned & would not answer her....As per previous comments this is how they learn.0

I read this this morning and wanted to ask why were you posting such a question on the internet when you had two small children in the house who presumably should be supervised?0

Maybe the kids were playing nicely so she had time to sit down. Surely if she is sitting down with the laptop while watching the kids she is supervising them? It is no different to her reading a paper, planning an evening meal with the kids under her feet surely??
So, by your reasoning, if you have 2 small kids in the house you cannot take your eyes off them for one minute to read emails or reply to one? Nor then should you be going to the loo, cooking dinner or tea, answering the phone, reading the the newspaper, answering the door, etc...
Children do need supervising but that does not mean you cannot do something else at the same time - especially if they are playing at that time. It is called multi-tasking. So alyth, you have to be a man then...?? :rotfl: You do realise that most people can do more than one thing at the same time?0 -
"Why?"
"Because I said so."
They don't tend to ask again after that.
Simples
"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

em no, I am as far as the last time I checked I was female. I just assumed when I read the thread that if the woman had her child's friend round to play them the woman would be spending her time with both kids, rather than posting about the poor questioning child on the internet.
Any parent that I have ever spoken to has said that you cannot even so much as go to the bathroom without taking your child. And I truly don't understand, why would someone sit down and read a newspaper instead of being with their child?
Parents, why have them and not enjoy and look after them?0 -

Rubbish.
I've never heard anything so stupid. (Well I have, but it's the stupidest thing I've heard today at least!)"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

would be fair enough if the OP just logged on and posted 1 quick post but she has several posted over the few hours her childs friend was over. If your going to do it with your own kids in the house then fair enough, but having other peoples kids over, whilst moaning about them and sitting infront of mse whilst doing so isn't on really.
Yes you can probably argue well she may have been logged in for 3 i/2 hours and kept going back to it... But come on wheres your concerntration really lying if your reading threads and posting on here every 10 mins?0
