  • A lot of people are comparing their purchases to ones they've bought from sites months ago when it wasn't Christmas. CD WOW's a good site, but like many others (I'm waiting on my Family Guy 8th season DVD from Play that I ordered two weeks ago) it's the Christmas time. I rarely buy things so late into December just for price.
I've worked in a few retail stores (don't wanna get in trouble by naming them), and last year at Christmas time, all hell broke loose. All that people were doing when shopping there was complaining that they weren't getting their online stuff a week after ordering it. I was so fed up hearing about people leaving it to the last minute.
If you want a good deal, that's great. But if you want 100% assurance you'll have everything before X-Mas, go to the store. You should be looking at Amazon, CD WOW, HMV etc, and all those websites now to get a good deal that'll arrive post-Christmas.
*Sigh* There's my retail rant right there. :j

Yes but myself and others on here ordered items over 3 weeks ago (November) which still have not arrived - so that's hardly leaving it until the last minute! I know CD Wow are based in Hong Kong but even at this time of year 3 weeks (and still waiting) is an unreasonably long time... I ordered an in stock item from amazon last night and have every expectation that it will arrive before Xmas having used amazon many times in the past at this time of year.

To be fair the sites shouldn't still be advertising pre-christmas delivery if they can't offer it. Play.com are advertising 4 days left and Amazons last day for Super Saver is this Friday.

I notice CDWOW don't mention anything about christmas delivery.
  • Oh my God all 3 items have arrived today!!! Bizarre they all arrived together, given they were 21, 14 and 11 days after their despatch dates!! Must have all been held up somewhere, probably Switzerland, as that is the postal marks. Another bizarre thing as I thought CDWOW stuff came from Hong Kong?

Anyway I suppose I'm happy now. Here's hoping everyone elses stuff arrives in time for Xmas.

    Boo to CDWOW!
  • i ordered 2 things yesterday...have used them in the past with no problems, am just hoping its not everyone with same delivery problem.....did get an email after going through checkout....and I have just looked at the account and it says 'pending despatch'

just wonder if I should cancel the order and order from elswhere??
Can't think of anything funny to put here!

I've ordered a lot of stuff from CD Wow in the past and always had brilliant service, even received CDs in time for Christmas which were ordered after their deadline.

However, I pre-ordered, like several other people on the Grabbit forum here, a DVD in November which was due for release on Dec 7th. CD Wow had it listed as being Region Free. They've since changed it to Region 1 on the listing but none of us have been notified and no one who has emailed the regarding this change has had a proper reply.
Oh, and of course none of us have received the DVDs we ordered yet.
  • Typical - the day after I re ordered from Amazon my CD wow order has turned up - took 12days from when they said they'd despatched it.
  • I am another one that is waiting for an order from bangcd - it has been weeks now. I ordered early thinking it would be in time for Christmas and I used the shopbot on mse which showed it as cheapest. There should be a little asterix or something beside bangcd and cdwow to warn others that they do not provide reliable service however cheap they might seem.
  • Wish I'd read this thread BEFORE I placed my order with CDWow, I ordered a CD on Sun 13th Dec for my mum for Christmas, was umming and ahhing for a couple of hours before I ordered it as it said 5-7 days for delivery and I really needed it to arrive by the 17th as my parents were going away for Christmas on 18th. I shopped around a bit but most websites had roughly the same delivery timescales so as CDWow were cheapest plus I got ipoints and a £1 off voucher I decided to take the chance. BIG MISTAKE my parents are now in Australia with my sister for Christmas and I am still waiting for the CD, had I know they were sent from Australia or Hong Kong I would have had it delivered to my sisters house. I couldn't order it any earlier as I didn't know she liked the artist until she made a comment the day before I ordered it. Will never use them again

I've been waiting for a cd ,for a xmas present, from Crazy Tiger, supposedly despatched on the 8th December.Told to allow 7 to 14 working days.Funny, their website says 98% are delivered within 3 days.

How do you prove you never received it,and will your credit company refund when it didn't cost very much? I thought it was only on items over £100?

Anyone else been waiting an age from them?
