grandchildren living with you

Options
for the past 7 years we have been bringing up our oldest grandchild, and for the last year our middle grandchild. our youngest stays over at least 3 night a week and comes round after school most days so give him his tea,
what do you think is a reasonable amout to be paid for caring for the kids bearing in mind my daughter is on benefits she has her own home so rent etc gets paid
she does give me some money but it not alot.
like someoutside views please

thanks

Not sure a price can be put on it without some sort of friction, if you do not consider what is paid enough then perhaps a polite word to explain prices gone up etc?

Otherwise I think it is grandparent's treats and be happy you can enjoy your grandchildren

That said, if daughter is on benefits, & I assume not working, why is she not looking after her children herself, pardon me if this is medical related

As a starting point, all the child benefit for the two who live with you and 3/7ths of it for the youngest.

You may be eligible for something called kinship fostering if there are valid reasons for the two eldest living with you.

Sorry you don't feel you can trust social services. £30 a week for what amounts to full time care for two and a half children is insufficient to care for all their needs. Why won't you daughter give you all the CB for the two eldest and a proportion for the youngest ?

Is there a danger that if you ask for more than she's willing to give, she will take the children back? How old are they, by the way?

Why not phone the Child Support Agency, they will give you an up to date figure.
