Cakeordeath, I have to agree with you. I made a modest order around 8:30am on the day of the glitch, then a couple of other modest ones a little later - didn't want to go to excess on any of them and kept fingers x-d that even 1 of them would turn up. After getting my despatch emails (due for delivery 8th and in North West) I then went on to place another order for further Xmas prezzys (not on sale/glitch price) plus some school uniform (for kids not myself ;)) confident that I was dealing with a retailer that was prepared to behave more than reasonable when caught short over such a big glitch in their pricing.

The fact that they do seem to be honouring the orders has given them huge brownie points with many shoppers though, loads of people added extras to their orders that weren't in the 75% off glitch and loads more will make subsequent orders confident that M&S is a good place to shop.

    Agreed here too.

Because they honoured my £3.50 order and sent a despatch note, I went back and ordered 12 bottles of Cava on one of their deals which came out at £4 a bottle. Now in all honesty I'd have got them for that price at Tesco or Adsa, but as M&S have been so good over this glitch I put the business their way instead.

That's it rub my nose in it....in the immortal words of Diana Ross, circa 1971 - I'm still (bloody) waiting! Okay, I added the bloody for emphasis!

Keep your fingers crossed that my order moves from despatching soon to despatched.....

I would of thought even all our orderds wouldnt of been more than a few thousand pounds, I would of thought its highly unlikely that they would of sold all the stock they had before christmas, with the price they buy the stock in at Iam sure there is a huge mark up on the rrp. Cant see it really affecting there overall takings for the season..

But hay Iam not complaing I will be telling all my guests that there fab pressies are from the best deal Ive ever had from marks... that is IF it turns up! I orderd 24 but only because thats how many guests I have on xmas day. I onlu orderd what I needed...

I dont know £800  from one alone, Ive seen a few for £200+ too and theres all the orders over on HDUK too, which some went into £1000's  apparently. Thats a 100% loss!! And some all for the price of delivery too. Even with the Hudge RRP they are still making a loss as they are giving some of these orders away!

I ordered just 8 things, and they will be given to teachers, FIL, OH and my 2 lovely sisters. Like you, I actually worked out what I would like for whom then ordered, ;) didnt take the pee!!

What really made me nauseous over on HDUK was the people placing orders of many hundreds of pounds - some even thousands - whilst openly stating that they didn't want the stuff and were doing it for a laugh or to see what would happen. Then, when it transpired they were honouring these glitch orders, talking about Ebaying their haul.

I often see posts about glitches and huge prices reductions and if I actually need the stuff I'll take advantage but if I don't need it, I just think it's nice someone will benefit and I move on. I honestly don't understand the rampant greed of the people who'll hammer a glitch to the absolute maximum...even if they don't want what they're buying!

It's the same mentality you see in 'all you can eat' places at times. You'll get people who just eat what they'd normally eat in a restaurant and then those who'll pile plate after plate up to the ceiling, even knowing they'll never eat it all, just because they want to 'get their money's worth'.
