dead contract phone? can i upgrade early?
hi, recently to much annoyance my Nokia n96 contract phone went dead after 6 months whilst charging, and it has been refused repair by Vodafone due to there engineer finding 'moisture damage' in the handset:rolleyes:, ignoring the reason I gave it to them to repair i.e. the screen wouldn't turn on although the keypad lights up:mad:.
i'm trying to find a phone shop to repair the actual fault, but if it can't be repaired then I am looking to either cut down my vodafone bill or get an early upgrade.
I'm on an 18 month contract with vodafone which started 23rd February this year, and the earliest i think i can officially ask for an upgrade is Jul 2010
does anybody know if i could may be get an early upgrade or failing that reduce the monthly cost.
thanks
Harry

3 months is the most you can upgrade early.
I believe that Voda will only let you drop a tariff in the last month of your contract (but I'm sure a Voda expert will be along to conform or other wise that)..0 -
Moisture kills everything - probably best to source a s/h replacement and sawap your SIM over, less hassle all round.0

Moisture can cause all manner of damage - this is why if it has damage from water/moisture the warrenty is void. Is it insured? Does your household insurance cover your mobile handset? Check it - it might

Hi ha12roon,
It's so frustrating when your phone is broken. However, if you have insurance with your price plan then we may be able to replace the handset for you. For more information please follow this link.
In reference to dropping your price plan, this can only be done after the first 9 months of your contract have passed; you can then drop your price plan by one step at a time.(e.g - from a £40 per month price plan to a £35 per month price plan and so on.)
I trust that this information has helped,
All the best,
