    Re the "vultures" on ebay.

Granted, whilst there are some who are multiple selling, take this into account:

I had two of the numnums hamsters, and only needed one, the only option for me to sell the additional on was on ebay.

The starting price was 99p, the end price was £20 plus £3.50postage.

Now, the hamster cost me £10, the postage originally for the hamster was £3 (it was £6 for both hamsters, so allocating half to this one!), the cost of the packing (I brought a box so it was secure) was £2.39, the cost of first class recorded postage was £2.89, ebay fees were £2, paypal fee was £1. Coming to a grand total of £21.28 in costs,

So this "vulture" made a whole £2 profit! woooo!!

Just thought I'd share if you all thought £10 of those £20 Ebay hamsters was profit!!

Im sorry if this seems out of turn however, why would you feel the need to post regarding E-Bay anyway? If you dont class yourself as a "Vulture" then the previous post was not directed at you and should not have offended you. Im quite sure that nobody can justify the sellers who are abusing hamster gate and at the end of the day...they know who they are

Im sorry if i offended you i should have made it clear that to me the vultures are the ones who set ridiculous BIN price's, I saw someone on play asking over £100 for the play ball! now thats a vulture.

I agree, i have no problem with individuals selling spare items on ebay, i have doubled up on a few things as i have bought them just in case 1 didnt show. (since been sold at RRP to others)

Its those sellers who have dozens of multiple listings with ridiculous BIN's or those who have raffles and sell 600 tickets @ 99p each for a chance to win 4 hamsters.

But people will only pay what they want and some people must really wat a slide, wheel or car to part with that amount of cash.

At the end of the day its only ebay and paypal who really win.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

I couldn't really lol - my daughter knows she has them even though I think she is too old (she's 11 and son is 7) but they wanted them.

I'm not sure you are right - I'm 20 years older than your DD, and definitely not too old for them (-:

Oh I know it wasn't directed at me, how would anyone even know I had sold one hamster on there! I wasn't offended in the slightest by it. I more wanted to try and show that not everyone out there selling a hamster is motivated by greed, and more often than not, the single sellers don't actually come out with anything on top of what they paid originally!

As you say, those abusing the system know who they are and I'd avoid them with a bargepole (i.e. the ones who have pictures of 10 hamsters in boxes as their item picture!)

Not directed at you, but if single sellers are not making money o ebay they should sell to others at RRP or even with £2 markup to someone who really needs them.

Ha, ha, description on an ebay listing for a ball:

Although this toy is new it WILL NOT come with the box (unfortunately my cat destroyed this)! The ball is still in the plastic wrapper and will be bubble wrapped to prevent damage in the post.
