MSE News: Barclays and Halifax hit by online banking glitch

    Went into Barclays branch this morning - staff having terrible problems getting online to their own system, and couldn't print out proper receipts. Went home and could not log in online on my own computer.

    I see Halifax system is down, too.

    I still can't even get to the login page.
    You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

    Still down,last time this happened it knocked out the ATM as well.
    Has anyone tried to draw money today or been into a branch?

    I went into a branch this morning, deposited a cheque and used the ATM with no problems. Didn't hear anyone say they were experiencing problems in the branch.

    I've just got in, after trying for 2 hours.
    Hope this isn't going to be a regular feature, I'm so used to HBOS online being reliable.

    I deposited cash this morning without problems, and also made a credit card payment over the counter (in cash), again without problems. I can't even get to the login page on internet banking now though.

    You're not alone, Barclays is down too. I'm guessing it's an influx after the long break and it's crashed the system. I'll try again this evening
