  • The one thing I would say to the 'knockers' (as opposed to the 'stuffers' ;)) out there is to perhaps drop a book every 2 to 3 months - say 1 book in 3 or 4 - unless the customer has said 'never darken my door....' I've had quite a few orders from people who either said no at the outset or to whom I'd been delivering a book for about 2 years without any previous response.

Persistence often pays off, it seems, and I think people are sometimes afraid what they might be letting themselves in for if they say 'yes' so they default to 'no' :D

  • Hi Phia2000 and Aureol...

Its 'AVON Building the Worlds Premier Company for Women' by Laura Klepacki. No idea where my daughter got it from. Basically the story of Avon from beg to 2005.

Thinking of doing alternate camps as finding it difficult to drop and deliver (circumstances at present). Started with C18, done C1, not C2 (ordered a shampoo myself only), doing C3. Have 8 territory customers (5 mins drive away) and 8 f+f. This should mean HOV and creative ordering for half the time it would take to do every one with alternate camps. Anyone else do this?

I got this book for Xmas too, although I had to order it myself. I got it from Waterstones online for about £11, and don't forget Quidco.

I know this is a random question, but do you earn commision on the total amount that would have been charged for the "£5 off" items in camp 2, or is it from the actual amount ie:£3 etc.

    many thanks in advance:j

As far as I know, it's the final amount of the sale so if the item is £8 less vouchers then you earn commission on £3. If the item is £5 less voucher you earn no commission. HTH xxx

Am guessing you're probably quite right but I would've thought that Avon would've allowed the £5 voucher to count towards our sales re. PC - yes/no? Anyone know for sure? If not then, personally, I think they're being really tight and not looking after their agents. I've been handing out all the extra ones accrued just by grouping individuals' orders together but if Avon are not giving us any benefit by their use then we might as well have kept the extra ones for ourselves!
