Yeah, great, good work :-(
now, the buyer can go scam someone else, safe in the knowledge that another idiot will probaly give in to his demands
remind me to keep an eye on your auctions, i'll happily buy loads off you if you'll so easilly bend over and give a 25% discount
one small saving grace is if the buyer hasn't left feedback yet, ask him to, then leave a big fat neg (if you are in the right that is!)money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

I'm surprised that you feel you have resolved the situation. If the laptop really was broken like the buyer claims surely you would want all your £400.00 back not just £100.00. This is what makes me wonder if the laptop is even broken at all. You refunded £100.00 very easily IMO. You definately should have insisted the laptop be returned to you prior to refunding any money.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Italy is the new Nigeria!
Ive had problems with all 3 items I have posted to Italy - and it is always the same story. Item received but not as described or package empty, and without question everyone of them starts a paypal/ebay non-performing seller action.
I have been lucky in all 3 encounters because I have satisfactory evidence, but now all my auctions state no sale to Italy.
Either the scammers have all emigrated to Italy or they are using postal addresses.
My advice is to stay clear of Italian buyers.

you state you only spoke to him on MSN chat - do you have your settings to keep history of conversations? if so, you would have had proof there it was working - there is no way I would have refunded without seeing the item first, and if I was the buyer, no way would I accept £100 on a £400 item - as prev. said in this thread - you've been conned.0

I had a similair problem where a buyer overpaid for a laptop to the tune of almost £300 for a pentium 2 laptop.
Obviously she realised this and wanted a refund and must have broken the laptop as she returned it broken. But what she didnt realise is that company policy is no refunds through Ebay which a buyer automatically agrees to when purchasing an item. It wasnt my fault she overpaid and over bidded.
In the end i sent her a faster laptop just for the peace of it all, yet she is back demanding more money off etc etc. I told her i would refund her return postage which is also against company policy but i thought i would be nice for a change.
Now last night she sends me an email saying the brand new WiFi card doesnt work blah blah blah demanding £60 off saying this is loose that is loose.

If an item arrives broken/damaged e.t.c you would still need to refund the buyer regardless of the fact that you state no refunds. You could just be posting out broken laptops (I'm not saying that you are, just making a point) and then when a buyer wants a refund you say no.
The point is you would still need to refund.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

That's pretty dodgy and I wouldn't buy from a seller who didn't offer refunds for something like a laptop.0 -
The Sale of Goods Act is only really relevant to commercial sellers who are bound in full by this act. Private sellers however only have to ensure that the items that they sell are accurately described.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--
