    Hehe Sue! :D

Well, then we need to keep putting money in the pot-"bomb" so it dont explode!:p

I can't hear any ticking right now... Maybe it will say something tomorrow again? :D

    "Tick, Tak, Tick, Tak":rotfl:

Ah, you're back again then KONG, up to mischief too I see! Not a lot of people know this but some folk believe their pots are calling to them and saying "Feel Me, Feel Me", they then interpret that as it calling to them to empty it out!!!!

No, no, no! That ain't the case and as all we sane folk in the challenge know - they're really saying "Fill Me, Fill Me!" :p Keep filling it up KONG, if you don't there may be DIRE actions to face!!! Cheesh, I'm getting as daft as all you lot!!! :(;)

Hi sparky, thanks a lot for the PM, have your other one too, though might not get time to reply tonight. Fingers crossed though.

Very good indeed Kerry!! :T Thanks for updating your sig.

Well done on you LC, now that is GOOD!!!

    For me it's £1.31 in the pot....shaken from DH's pocket - by HIM - I hasten to add!!! :D

Have a lovely weekend everyone. :) For all your Scots...don't forget your wellies! :o

Sue x Don't forget, anyone still wanting to join us, you're welcome. :)

    Morning everyone,
I've put my full pot in the loft for now to remove any temptation to open it! Well yesterday I put another £3 odd away and also found 20p while walking the dog. Sue how is your new addition to the family doing hun? I see you still haven't fathomed out how to put a piccy up yet. Looks like a really nice autumn day out there, so enjoy it but get wrapped up

Stay safe and keep saving everyone

  • Hello Sue-UU and all. Haven't been here lately for various reasons (holiday in France for one).

And, I haven't been adding the cash very much. The main reason is that I'm now paying quite a bit each month towards DH's care, and am living even more frugally than usual. For 3 months the plan is this: After I've allowed for all the usual bills, standing orders, food budget etc, I'm left with £10 a day. So, I am actually calling it £7 a day, and portion it out in dated envelopes.

To start this off at the beginning of October I drew out £210, then OPENED THE POT!!! and "bought" £210 worth of change and fivers to fill the envelopes. I DIDN'T count the total by the way, so still look forward to the grand opening day. (WHEN WILL IT BE BY THE WAY?)

If I don't spend the £7, I put the change into a special LITTLE pot. Then when I need to spend more than £7 on anything, I use that, and if necessary, open other envelopes ahead of time. Then, on the 'empty' days I have a NSD.

Seems to be working, but it means I don't have much loose change to put in the pot. But, other money is staying in the bank, so I'm not losing out. I have to say doing this is making me think twice about spending anything - or at least to look for cheapest alternatives.

After 3 months, I'll assess how it's all working out, but am (at the moment) scared of overspending. If it turns out OK, I can relax a bit more!
Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!
  • £20 this week hope everyone is ok. Fingers crossed for you Winchelsea but with all that planning Im sure it will work out for you. x
Does anyone know whats happening with the £2 saver thread , I looked for it and it said it was closed. does this mean we dont post the amount ?
Thinking of selling on ebay I know there is a thread for this but any help form here will be appreciated. Ds laughed at me when I told him I was a bit unsure. Oh the joys of youth. no middle age angst. xx

You mean this one fishcakes? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2173171 Sounds like you found an old thread if it was closed.

As for ebay, start small, just list one or two things at a time, nothing too valuable, while you get used to it then when you feel braver get some more expensive things up/more listings at once.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
