"Sealed Pot Challenge 3"

:j I have some very exciting news tonight...I moved house back in Feb. I had to move suddenly...not my own choice, and then my dad was quite ill, so it was a pretty stressful time (all worked out fine in the end). But, what with everything that was going on, I packed and moved pretty quickly, and still have a few boxes I never unpacked. This evening, my tiny loose change bowl I've been using as my sealed box (a little heart-shaped dish, so not a sealed box at all, but it does the job!) was full, and I wanted to move the change into something else, so I went hunting for some little card boxes that I've had for years that I've used for saving change in in the past. (Also, I thought the lid would keep me from temptation of dipping into it when I see the coins in the dish!)
Well, when I pulled the little boxes out, I felt they were weighty, and remembered that I'd been saving loose change in them at the start of the yr, and must have totally forgotten as I'd been so preocupied around the time of the move! Very excited to count £18.30 inside :rotfl:
As I'd put this by this yr, and had only started this challenge in the last few wks, I've added this amt to my previous total. I also added the following over the last few days: Sat - £1.46; Sun - £2.25; Mon: 96p.
So, my total's now a rather healthy £45.81!!! I'm very excited! I think I'm really starting to get into this saving lark - it really does feel as good as spending money. (Now, I NEVER thought I'd hear myself say that!!) :A
Hope you all had a good w/e and the saving's going well.Proud to (finally!) be dealing with my debts!! DFW Nerd # 1333

Ah....that is wonderful PennyCounter and I couldn't be more thrilled for you!!! :j You're doing just great, continue on the way you're doing and you're going to be so chuffed come Christmas. Mainly though it helps get us into the regularity of saving and it's always good that, should we need it, we always have something there to fall back on.
Well done PC! I whizzed on here for the quitting fags thread and saw your post, but how could I possibly leave you all excited til later today.Glad life's looking up for you.

Morning everyone.
Nice one pennycounter, I love finding money I'd forgotten about, founf a £5 in a suit I hadn't worn for a while a couple of months ago, it's like winning the lotto! Had to go to town last night because my DW while packing clothes for charity collection put all her work tops in with them without realising. The upshot was we got a £2 coin plus a 50p coin to go into the New York spends plus around £1.30 into the sealed pot.

Thanks Sue & Sparky! I went to bed in such a good mood last night, as really feel like I'm cracking this saving thing! Baby steps, but it feels good!!
Sparky - I hope she got her tops back!! Always a worry when you start putting stuff into bags that you'll mix them up like that. A girl I know once moved house, and left all of her clothes in black bin liners at her family home. Her sister thought they were rubbish and chucked them out!! That was not a good day for her!Proud to (finally!) be dealing with my debts!! DFW Nerd # 1333
