  • Total of £2 added to the pot this week.

I decided to count up the pot to see what was in there as I was feeling a little deflated about the lack of £££ going in there. Fortunately I have added a total of £10.47 since January. Maybe not as much as others with the pot, but a very good amount and enough to encourage me to continue with the challenge - no longer deflated!!

blimey folks, I have only just got rid of my sealed jar for last year, due to snow, illness etc etc. Anyhoo we had a whopping £99.58 in it !!!! I was all for being sensible and using it for something we need. DH however, has said, oh lets treat ourselves, so we've split it 3 ways with DS. I can't get out of my OS mindset, and I'm going to use some of mine for some small dishes and silicone baking stuff to make cakes and buns for the freezer.
I must begin again now for 2010, I have 1p so far :)

  • Meant to ask, I think I'm going to open a little bank account to pop savings in this year - they will be very small amounts. When I was very little I had a small savings account with Yorkshire Bank. Could anyone advise me on who they have such accounts with. There won't be much going into it, but it would be nice to see the pennies mount up.
    thanks

Another purse emptying day has arrived and a reassuring number of coins has been added to the bottle.

  • Hi,
I have two jars one sealed. Sealed jar is for £1 coins i try to add one per day ans the odd note. The other jar is a coffee jar where I put 1p, 2p 5p, 10p 20p & 50p in when I have enough bag and take to building society. This week I bagged £15, and I have £9 in 50p only need two more so this week I should be able to put £10 in aswell. I have put into the sealed jar at least 7 out of 10 days. Today I have put in one £5 note and one £1 coin and in the coffee jar 20p. So today is £6.20.:)
