HI Sparky we had a tin bath in front of the fire. we didnt have a bathroom till about 1975-1977. we had a grant on our terraced house, off Sleepers Hill just down the raod from Liverpools ground. Had gas fires installed hoo what bliss. Used to come home form senior skill to sit in front of the clothes maiden and have soup for my lunch . :)

OK added £4.57 to tin today, making grand total of £29.87.

It's amazing just how quickly it mounts up. Goes to show my mother was right when she used to tell me to 'look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves'.

  • Good day today. I had already put a £1 coin in the tin and then 85p shrapnel from my bag and 78p shrapnel from the car.

I then went to the garage and found a lovely shiny £2 coin on the forecourt so it has gone in the tin too.

    So thats £4.63 today (I think). :j :j
  • Lots of pennies is the pottie for me today as I was out on the lash last night:money: Feel rubbish today though:o Oh dear Sparky I remembered far too many things on that list and I'm only 35:eek: Really kids today have it so easy:rotfl: Hope you all have a lovely weekend. LCxxx

    Hi Everyone

Just can't believe how many of those things I can remember!! The summers were always hot and we would go out all day with a bottle of water (tap of course) and a jam sandwich and our parents wouldn't worry now we worry if the children are ten minutes late home from school. Not all changes are for the better As for Stunty he would have been treated with the upmost respect and always been called Sir and he would still clip the lads round the ears for misbehaving.

Been really good to-day . Did a big batch of cooking, and put lots of pennies in the pot.

    Good day today :j

Stole £1.87 out of DH pocket this morning so that went in. Got a cheque this morning from Fonebank for £16 so that will go in as well once it's cashed.
