Feeling surprisingly well off this afternoon - think its the realisation that the boy is gone south and I don't have to treat him to meals and afternoons at the cinema this week - although I'd swop any money in the world for him to still be here! So emptied my purse again leaving only the pounds.

  • Thanks for your explanations of road kill everyone..... never thought of that! I do occasionally find the odd 1p or 2p on the pavements but feel too embarrassed to bend down and pick it up! I find quite a lot of small change in my daughter's car.... they seem to chuck odd coins on the floor and forget about them. Also find a few down the back of the settee now and again... all these will in future go in my sealed pot.

  • Found a £1 coin on the floor in M&S today so put that along with my usual £1 in the sealed pot.

Also put 49p change in the shrapnel jar.
  • been putting some coins in both my pots... not sure how much but all helps! found a pound in a bag earlier, want to put it in the pot but can't bring myself to do it just yet.... hopefully i will though....

  • Just found a £1 in my penny bottle, and OH threw 50p at me, so both in the new sealed pot, along with 5 x 20ps left from bagging the last year's money :)

Could you add me please? I'm already doing £1 a day challenge til end of nov (for christmas spends) but will do sealed pot to the end of the year, saving 1p, 2p and 5p's and occasionally anything else I have ... will aim for £50 :D Thank you xxx
I can't believe I have not heard of this until here- definately joining- not sure how much I will raise so I'm going to aim for £100 this year and see what I get.
Please add me to the list.

    Morning loopychris,
Last year I picked up £53.07 in road change, this goes into a seperate pot and every 1st April I pay a bill with it, that way I look that some-one else has paid towards my debt :D, schoolkids are the best source of this kind of change, they don't seem to like having it in their pockets
