It might not have been perfect but I'm sorry to see this go. I was trying to find it earlier this week but the usual link redirected to a shopping tips page with zero mention of the tool. It's not mentioned in the weekly email either. A bit of a sorry end for a once loved tool.
Have comparison sites had their day? Is Google Shopping the place to go now?0 -
Thanks Dan for your reply, it's appreciated. I imagine though not the most well used part of the site, there were probably a band of people who used the tool often. It was a shame to see it go.
Is it the same story with the cashback checker tool that also disappeared with no apparent fanfare, ie, less traffic and outdated and no longer worth development time supporting?0 -
Whats similar to it please?0

Shame to see it go. I hope it returns sometime soon.0

I just posted elsewhere about not being able to find this.
Very disappointed.
Talking of old technology, this forum is not running full https. Chrome warns against passwords being used here but this forum obviously requires one!0 -

For books I am currently using:
https://www.bookfinder.com
Covers amazon, ebay and abebooks and a few others.
But just now found and bought what I was looking for via:
https://www.usedbooksearch.co.uk/
Not just used books but does new and other places that bookfinder missed - actually surprisingly WH Smith online was cheapest for me. (free click/collect from local store)0 -
I did find an app called Honey, has anyone else used it?0

My opinion, as ‘distraught’ as I am, is that MSE will always be looking out for me/us. The decision probably was hard, but they will have set a precedent and paved the way for sites like Google to have evolved the ‘technology’ behind the searches.
I feel hugely confident that MSE will be promoting 3rd party ‘apps’ where and when they deem them to be worthy.
We won’t lose out with MSE’s continued guidance and persistent saviness I am sure. :j0
