Thanks, but don't have either of those stores where I live. :(

We got a couple to make up little food hampers from Tesco. Can't remember cost but was only £2-3 I think.

I would be careful if anyone intends to try and take the free stuff back to a store for a full refund - although the prices aren't on the despatch note, they might be able to look up the order number on the till and see what you paid.

I'm pretty sure other online purchase but return in store shops like Boots work like that.

I totally agree that doing the above is unacceptable but wondered why the issue has been raised?

I've skimmed back over the past few pages and can't see that anyone has suggested that they might attempt this? Correct me if i'm wrong?
  • Just wanted to say thank you again to the OP. I've been able to get some lovely presents for some people who've been so good to me and I wouldn't have been able to afford such nice things full price.

Plus I've been able to treat myself. So HUGE thanks :D

Someone mentioned a few pages back that people on HUKD were talking about it - I don't think anyone has posted on here that they were intending to do it.

I've noticed this morning that you can still get your most expensive item free on the 3 for 2. The only problem being that there is not much left!

If you wanted the reed diffusers though and you add one first then stick in a couple of cranberry bath and shower gels you are charged for the gels and the diffuser is free. I guess 11.70 for 27.35 worth of stuff is still a good deal.

Not sure which codes are working though as dont actually need to order anything so didnt try to go through checkout, was just playing!

Surely it's fraud and therefore a criminal offence?

    I have no idea tbh.

However, my thoughts are that if a store's system is set up in such a way that it allows a low purchase price and a higher refund price then I would argue that it would be difficult to prove it was fraud.

Yes, I was sort of thinking this too. The only thing it might achieve is to give people ideas  so maybe it's not a good idea to go on about it!!
