    That's the one!

I imagine it's apocryphal, but it's funny nonetheless.

A bit like the guy who called in because his computer's cup-holder broke.
I came across a website with umpteen of these stories once. You wouldn't believe the sorts of things folks had done. It was called money something-or-other but I forget what. :)

    :T Nice work.

Have to say that I was amazed it wasn't reported here.......

BUT! I did have exactly this issue this morning on a new PC running Vista home premium with no more software than Avira and Firefox added. It simply took me to the 'choose which OS to start' screen and then appeared to boot normally, but it did take place.

Win7 in the post to me now. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

By, er... people whose computer has succumbed to the Black Death? :(

    Marty J,

Thank you for pointing this out. I think you may have hit on the reason why I've remained miraculously immune to the allure of the iPhone; I'm wearing a blue turtle neck, black jeans and a new pair of trainers. Doh! :wall:

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

    =====

If this problem is as common as the article suggests it's strange that it hasn't been reported here sfaik.

I did in fact report this on here a few days ago, I thought that removing AVG had fixed it, but alas it had not.

Is that the one where TS tell the customer to repack the computer and send it back because they are too stupid to use it?

Or how about the guy who can't understand why his document wont scan when he holds it in front of his monitor! :rotfl:

So is this just a temporary black screen or is the machine bricked until restored/reinstalled?

Or the one who scanned a mirror for his phone wallpaper and wondered why it didn't work.

There are shedloads of stories you (almost) wouldn't believe.
