I've just read this thread and am too pleased that you are going. I went to Take that last night and had the best time possible. I heard i could get tickets and felt such guilt about spending the money but then realised it was a once in a lifetime chance.

In the end it actually gave me a kick up the bum, because I knew I shouldn't be spending the money I ended up going into money saving overdrive and have made more money in the past week than I have in weeks. i have paid and extra £70 off the credit card put £50 in our home improvements pot, paid for my ticket, travel, parking, food and program etc in cash and also now have £90 coming from quidco next month. I wouldn't have done any of this if it wasn't for the guilt of spending. Have a look at quidco gambling things, as long as you spend no more than the min you have to to get your money you can make some big bucks, esp the bingo sites, spend £10 get a free £10n to bet with and then get £30 from quidco, i did this with Mecca bingo and then won £105 as well.

Having taken advise from the OH he says you DO NOT hire a car. He says take public transport. www.bahn.co.uk The trains run fabulously and room for your tent. However he says there is a system whereby you ask for a lift. The BIL has done this many times. You need to get in touch with Mitfahrerzentrale. http://www.mitfahrerzentrale.de/ If anyone is travelling from Frankfurt to Dortmund you can get a lift with them and pay some petrol. We have had a look and you just have to choose ya date and time. Have a try any problems and we will advise. However if Germany are playing England advice may be sparse as the OH and I will not be speaking!!!!

Thanks CG. Will look in to that!

I think we're half tempted to get a car coz we can sleep in it if need be. Don't think taking a tent is an option coz we'll have to take it in to the stadium! :rotfl:

Or you pitch th bl***y thing before the match. OH says many campsites are full but worth trying to get a pitch. Also worth knocking on nice German people's doors and pitching in their garden in return for beer, then again if the match is with Germany small chance!!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
