  • Happy friday peeps!

I'm in such a good mood today :D def have that friday feeling! :j

I acheived 16 NSD in jan which was fab this month I think I might try for 17, i've got a lot on this month, and I want to make sure I hit at least every other months target to keep me motivated so maybe if I creep it up. It is helping that i've decided to cut out chocolate so i'm resisting the 3pm wander to the vending machine! and i'm single (still!) so no expense valentine....see it does have its plus! :rotfl:

Looking forward to my first shift on saturday, just hope the cook can read my handwriting *LOL*

  • Good Morning One and All

Yes i have been AWOL and I'm sorry i've had a horrendous time personally and i've lost my motivation and although I haven't added to my balance i have missed a months repayments :doh:however, the cafe job is going really well and I think I will be able to pay another £100 a month towards my debts minimum, which is great.

Despite the sadness of losing my nan she left me some money bless her, and as its her hard earned savings i'm determined not to waste i but what to do with it....I was thinking Full and Final Offers? but need to look into it and see what the cons are, I have enough to clear the Capital One card completely and have £300 left over but I was thinking maybe I should offer a full and final and then pay say my years council tax or something up front and free up some cash on a monthly basis to save up to pay bills next year? my thinking behind this is that I spread all my insurances etc.. monthly which I pay an admin charge for If I can free up the £75 a month I spend on the council tax and save it I could get better deals

    What does everyone think?

Can't find your SoA. I would suggest it is time to update at least the debts part of it {amount owing, monthly payment, APR, date of final payment for a loan} - I think we can assume that you are on top of your income and expenditure. Plus roughly how much you have to put against your debts.

  • ok I full and finaled my smallest credit card! kinda with some sadness as I feel guilty i've used my nans savings to get me out of a mess i got myself into but I know she would approve as credit was not the done thing in her day. I had £5 left over and I have planted her favourite rose in my garden just for her.

not as estatic as i thought i would be but I guess i feel celebrating out of benefiting from my nans passing is a bit off It has made me more determined than ever to sort myself out though i feel i owe it to her

Hi determinedtodothis - have just found this thread.

My Granny passed at the beginning of the year and she left me a small amount of money as well. I had £700 on one of my credit cards and used the money she left me to pay off the balance :) I know that she would be proud of me getting out of debt in the same way your nan would be of you :) I really like the idea of planting her favourite flower as well - I think I will do this as am on track with my NSD's.

Thanks, and will keep reading :)
  • Thanks Stoney G, I hope she would approve, I know she would have rather i buy something as a luxury but i think had she known my situation and how hard I am working to sort it out I think she would be proud.

but I though the begining of June and the bank holiday would be an excellent time to catch up!

    an update...

I am still doing weekends at the cafe andhave been able to pay £115 off this month :j it would have been more but I have arranged to do a sun holiday with friends this year and I have saved £100 for that! bit naughty really but everyone deserves a break! I have also put £30 away towards my tax and MOT for this year :A

So for June..I'm aiming for at least 20 no spend days and to match this months payment, I have a suit i hope to put on ebay too which will help

    DECEMBER 2019 :j :j :j
YAY that's cheered me up! only another 9 years and 6 months to go!! I have seen it mentioned on here that its a free listing day on ebay on sunday... I might take a look at what quality items I can pop on there, see if I can't bring it down by a month or two! I know it seems a long way away still but i've still shaved off 3 years in the past 18 months I hope that as this year goes on I'll start getting on an even-ish keel with more in the way of savings for MOTs and TV licences and be able to pay more off

  • Good Morning!

Well I have earn £30 cashback for joining weightwatchers on line and it should be going into my account on the 13th, so a 3 month subscription didn't cost me anything and I actually made 5p and i'm printing off reciepes and point values like crazy so I can still use them when it runs out!

I have dug out a suit that I have never worn from Karen Millen (it was given to me by a friend who lost weight and she'd only worn it a handful of times) So that will go on, on sunday just wondering how much I should put it on for - any ideas anyone?

The NSD are not off to a good start, I bought lunch yesterday and I'm having to again today as I was completely disorganised and didn't make a pack lunch, on the plus side the boss is taking us out tomorrow so next week I turn over a new leaf.
