  • Well I have 1 NSD under my belt for december :T... 9 to go

Debt payments are on hold this month, I've paid £50 off this month and £50 towards my electricity meaning i'm now £139 in credit ready for the bill this month, but have decided to give myself the rest of the month off not very MSE but good for my sanity, i have barely been out in 2009 and I have 2 xmas parties, 3 xmas lunches and i intend to go to all of them and have a budget for each night, last year I was very bah-humbug because of my situation but things are better for me this year and i'm celebrating! 3 presents left to get :xmassmile

I got all my xmas decorations out the loft on sunday and intend to busy myself this saturday putting them up whilst watching strictly and xfactor and i'm going to spring clean the living room during the day so thats Def a NSD on the cards.

I have my first xmas party Friday, its straight after work so I'm picked an outfit I can wear to work all day and still look a bit "dressy" in the night 1st drink is also free so good start :rotfl:

I have been a bit rubbish at checking in but a quick update..

:D 10 NSD!! WOHOO (i think it might even be more but i kinda lost count!)
:D I've paid another £51.00 off my debts
:D have listed 3 items on ebay

 am skint for the rest of january, bills are paid, food in the cupboard but going to be a very quiet month!
    have a stinking cold...AGAIN!

I am thinking about new years resolutions. I don't normally do them but I was thinking maybe this year I will and I will incorporate them into my debt busting:

    1. i'm going to loose weight, and I will put £1 in a sealed pot for every £1 lost

    2. i'm going to pay at least £100 off my debts a month which is £49 more than my usual payment so i need to budget budget budget and get ebaying..which brings me on to -

    3. i'm going to ebay all the stuff that at the moment i am hoarding to make some space and help with resolution number 2. I am also selling all the mobile phones i have just found in the loft (my ex's) well he obviously doesn't need them! - at the moment Mazooma is quoting £14.00 (they are old) might see what other companies are offering

Well done Determined. You will be an inspiration to many and reading stories like yours remind me how much effort is needed to climb out of debt (yes I have been there) and what a wonderful feeling it is not to owe any one ANYTHING! Keep ou the good work for 2010 and I hope you will be on the Debt Free Roll of Honour by Jan 2011.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Thanks guys i really really really would love to be starting 2011 with a minimal debt but i think its going to be small and steady payments for 2010.

Sometimes I find it hard to imagine what it would be like to post on here that i am debt free, but went i look back and take count of last year its doable i just have to stay focused

wish you all a very happy new year!

  • Just want to say that your a great inspiration, i'm just starting out on the road to being debt free, and by god i'm going to get there.

I've started a spend diary and am going to try for 14 NSD. These are the days i am at work for 10-12 hours. The only downside is my last paycheque is going to be the 28 th Feb eeek.

    But i will get there.

    Well done again
