Quidco.com false promises

Has anyone else run into problems with any of the cashback deals with Quidco. I recently tried to sign up to Virgin Media package through Quidco in order to take advantage of what appeared to be a very generous £135 cashback. Unfortunately Virgin did not have my address on their database (although they did have my next door neighbour) which meant I was unable to complete the registration online. Virgin then contacted me and sent out an agent to complete the deal, he said that it was possible for cashback sites to manually track a deal by using my customer reference number. Quidco refuse to do this saying it is impossible yet other cashback sites e.g. TopCashBack do have provision for manually tracking transactions which could not be completed online.

A big thumbs down to Quidco.:naughty:

Quidco make it very clear that, in order to be eligible for cashback, the whole transaction must be completed online.

Maybe you need to check your information more carefully before committing to buy?
    Gone ... or have I?

I had ther same problem with Ancestry. Completed online, correct name and details but not paid. Quidco said that Ancestry no longer gave cashback despite them still advertising that they do:confused:. Quidco refused to take it further.

On a different point. Has anyone been paid by Quidco this month?

I've had a couple of things where I've completed online, but there have been problems and I've been called up and had to reapply by the phone...as long as the original try tracked, you can normally add an enquiry after a while and tell them the new reference and it goes through. If quidco have no record of the transaction, though (ie not completed) I wonder how they're supposed to help...

Any chance you could explain further where there is a false promise ? Quidco say everything must be done online, that is all. You couldn't do this, that is unlucky for you. It's not Quidco's fault - they don't say they can track offline transactions.
  • Hey peps,

similar problem here. I have an ongoing enquiry for the £150 Quidco cashback (got VM on early September) but I got an "insufficient data" message.

The problem is that somehow I have deleted the VM confirmation email so I luck the notorious 21 digit 'Sign up Online' KMM*************L0KM reference asked from Quidco therefor I only submitted my account number which I'm afraid is not enough.

I was wondering if this number is something like a combination of e.g. our customer account number/area code etc so it would not be difficult to "recreate" it or if you think there would be any chance ringing VM and finding it out.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry its not Quidco's fault, you did not follow the terms and completed the deal offline
  • To those who have been quoting Quidco t&cs and have been asking where the false promise is I will explain again. Quidco with Virgin were offering £135 cashback for signing up for a package online which was impossible to do of your address was not already in the Virgin database. Virgin said it was possible for Quidco to manually complete the cashback. Quidco refuse to do this.

The terms clearly state that is has to be 100% completed online, you did not do this, Quidco cant just add money it goes through a 3rd party affiliate network, who did you speak to at Virgin was it just a call agent or the affiliate marketing department ? , if it was a call agent then dont beleive what they say, i would be pushing for Virgin to give you a credit on your account rather than chase Quidco

To be fair cashback is nothing to do with Virgin Media unless they offer it themselves.
