  • So there you go, you need a new card number in order to stop it!
Incorrect. Since the CPA was set up (I'm assuming) when the card was legitimate (and the CPA itself was at the time 'legitimate,') any new charges on that CPAs on the old number will get redirected to the new card number, not refused - they're technically the same account.

The only sure fire way of stopping a CPA is to get the charging company to stop making the charges.

The less sure fire way is if your card is with one of the more enlightened credit card companies who will take evidence that you've at least attempted to cancel the CPA at face value, and will refuse to grant any subsequent payments.

Unfortunately, if the CC provider is not so enlightened, you can still find yourself being chased for payments long after any cards have expired/reported as lost/stolen and/or accounts have been canceled.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

Can we have the facilty to allow LARGE fonts to be removed?

Should be a lot easier than allowing mad people to post.

Sorry you feel that way, but you do bang on a bit mate, and starting new threads rather than adding to your last one is going to vex other users. Also you seem to have had all the advice you asked for, once again from NID above, yet you seem unhappy. Do you expect a huge internet campaign to be sparked from this? I know it seems unfair, but it sounds to me that you have authorised the CPA without understanding what it is. If you didn't, it would've been stopped with one call.

Bottom line - if you did not authorise this action (CPA) on your card then you go to the provider and tell them so! They will then refund you and get you to sign saying you knew nothing about it - they will then report it/deal with it from there-on-in. That's it - job done, finished!

Absolutely, I think I did post this advice to you 2 days ago.

You do keep raising new threads regarding the same issue and it will get on people's nerves.

Hope you get it sorted anyway.

LOL, I see how that reads now.

My words were meant for the OP. The situation is quite simple really :

    (a) He has an unwanted CPA
    (b) He cancels this with the organisation who are taking the payments.
    (c) If they continue to take payments, then he disputes them with the Card Provider as fraudulent.
    (d) The payments are refunded.
    (e) Simples

Not sure why so many threads are being started when this advice has already been given.

  • i dont think anybody really cares that you have been 'scammed' by either a slimming pill/teeth whitening/acaiberrie etc company as much as you think. you gave the card details to the company. nothing comes for free.....always read the small print
  • Er, is this the right room for an argument?
