I thought this forum was to help people!

I have made a number of posts today about CPA's and Vanquis Bank in good faith as I have been a victim of a fraud scam with an US scam company [no not !!!!!! as suggested!] to the sum of £100 which could be for all I know, spiralling.
Ofcourse, naturally I been working hard to put a lid on this unfortunate experience as like anyone else here on the forum, no one enjoys being ripped off.
There has been a couple of short-thrifted reply postings directed at me from certain individuals at this forum who seem to take pleasure in calling me a <troll> and by another <obsessed>.
Obsessed really, all I wanted was to collate as much advice and support from fellow posters, surely that's not a crime, or is it?

You've posted the same threads several times; your post above accuses a couple of regular followers (cif & elky) and you don't seem to accept the advice given!
You were told (several times) that cancelling a card does not free you from a CPA - the company can still apply to your card, the card issuer can pay it and they can then, if they want, send you an invoice! It is for you to deal with the company that applies the CPA to get it to cease....
That is what you need to do. End of the matter now I assume?2010 - year of the troll

Looking at your previous posts you have been flooding the boards with multiple threads and posts about the same subjects. That is going to annoy people.0

Sorry cant offer any advice concerning your fraud scam.
However with regards to your feelings about the site, I’m sorry to hear that you’ve previously had a bad experience, I think you’ll find the vast majority of posters are supportive and provide great advice for everyone that needs help.
Best Regards

Everyone seems to be moaning tonight. Is it the weather?Gone ... or have I?0

sorry got no advice but i thought you got the answer to your problem many times , eg you have to cancel this yourself, it is not up to the credit card company to do it or have i got it wrong (sorry if i have )0

hi, yes I agree I have had some good support from other fellow posters over this year, but I'm getting out of here as there are too many bullies on here, I say let them have a go at someone else....
You know, one does not need that kind of response when one is genuinely trying to sort a problem out, I have been worried sick about being scammed [1st time for me] and I know I should have been more careful, but I was mislead into thinking that I was paying only the postage for a free sample, there was nothing to warn me that I would be committing to an agreement, an unauthorised one.
My visa credit provider did tell me today as well as an independant credit advisor, who both told me in no uncertain terms that when I terminate by business with my visa card provider and pay off the outstanding balance, no further charges can be applied to a dead account as I'm no longer a customer.

Yes, this is true but you can be charged for items not yet billed to a closed account. The card provider may well decide to refuse the payment at their end but if they do pay it then you will be liable.
The CPA scheme is separate to what you probably asked Vanquis thus you got the response you did get - don't be mistaken! If however you did not start the CPA then it is fraud and you report it as such. Then you are not liable for anything - ever! ....2010 - year of the troll

Continuous Authority is for vendors who regularly take payments from shopper's cards (weekly, monthly or yearly). The banks will provide a Continuous Authority Internet Merchant number for all vendors who wish to process repeat payments of this nature.
Transactions that are processed online with the banks require a CV2 Value and an Expiry date. But CV2 values cannot be stored and expiry dates can expire, so processing a Repeat transaction has its restrictions.
Continuous Authority transactions do not require a CV2 value or expiry date. The initial transaction, once verified, will be a trusted card and will not need to have the data passed again. If the card expires, as long as the card number has not changed, it can still be processed.
So there you go, you need a new card number in order to stop it!
