I my humble opinion this board is in very desparate need of a lot more decent counter-arguments to Hamish posts and a serious decrease in people just throwing insults at him.

The points of discussion he raises are usually worth reading. Not that I agree with him that often or get too worried when he raises a reasonable argument with some logic supporting his HPI/stagnation/end-of-crash ect.

It's just I've rarely got the energy to engage Hamish that often. I've seen him sap the strength of some very smart bears, with some bruising exchanges, and Hamish still standing and fighting back with his own views. If you were a neutral reading... it might be difficult to separate them on points.

So apart from an occasional skirmish I mostly retreat away from it with Hamish. Well not retreating as such, more like advancing towards future victory.

    Fair enough.

He just seems to post a lot of articles (mainly positive) that seem to be pretty bread and butter stuff for this board, then everyone (bar a few such as Dopester, Generali and Hammersmashedface and I'm sure a couple of select others) just calls him a HPI tw*t or something similar.

    Ah well.

Hamish fully admitted when he was on HPC that he was there just to wind people up. I suspect that half of what is says is just to get attention. He used to be pretty sensible at times but nowadays he just spins the articles that he posts and often they are not even supporting his opinion. His suprime article is a prime example of this.

I'm not sure how anyone can take people seriously who are telling us what is going to happen whether its prices are going to go through the roof or are going to fall 70%. You cannot discuss anything with these people as they have a one track mind.

    Growth does not equal prosperity.

It doesn't? So is growth a bad thing?
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

You really do have a nerve,

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2103669&page=3 post 52 - I'll carry on waiting for your reply & apology...

    I like this bit:

"It's about time people stood on their own two feet."

Standing on your own two feet and reaping the windfall of house price inflation caused by endless government interference at the expense of just about everyone who isnt a debtor is fine though.

No, I'm pretty sure that starting a thread "hoping for more" job losses is just sick.

    Bangs head against brick wall......

Hamish you really do take the biscuit. So its not wrong to start threads wishing for higher house prices all the time, wrecking peoples lives as they work inhumanly long weeks in order to afford the mortgage? What about your kids (i doubt you have any) future?

Sorry, i forgot to mention the obligatory :beer: when talking about getting people in more debt.

No wonder i find myself on here less and less with fools like this on here.

They're all showing their true colours tonight.

They want mass unemployment. They wish for it. No, they hope for it..... Just so they can try and blag a cheaper house.

The crash isn't working out for them, year on year positives are already here on one index, and just round the corner on the others. The BoE has admitted rates will stay low for years, and population is still growing. House prices have risen for 8 months now, and show no signs of falling significantly any time soon.

So now the fear and desperation sets in.... And they hope for mass unemployment, as it's the last desperate roll of the dice for them. Their gamble has failed, and they know it.

I'm delighted this thread got them to finally admit that all the denials, all the protestations to the contrary, have all been lies.

They do wish for massive unemployment. They absolutely celebrate it.

They don't give a fig who suffers, so long as they can pay below the odds for a house.

It just shows how despicable they really are.

Seriously.......................i can see why HPC banned you and also why this section went private........

    What a d*ck.

    Once again....

You still don't get it do you.....

Those who wish for HPI also wish for high levels of employment, rising incomes, a strong economy, and prosperity for as many as possible, as those are the circumstances that best support the greatest levels of HPI.

Those who wish for HPC by definition also wish for recession, unemployment, reposession, and misery for as many as possible, as without those factors, they cannot have their crash.

Crashaholics are misery merchants, who revel in doom and hope for unemployment, recession and reposessions.

This thread, and the vitriol spewed by the frothing hpc-ers, has only confirmed I am right.

Please dont tar us all with that brush.

I just want a nice house to live in. I dont want to make thousands on it. I just want to raise a family in it.

I've worked hard at Uni and have a decent job yet i still cant afford one. OK i could probably get a mortgage but i dont want to have to work all my life just to pay it off. I want to have a life too

100% agree, Instead off looking at what he posted, a thread about someone rubbing their hands at job losses and debating about that.
They start making fun and having a go at him. It makes them look like they agree with the post he took offence at.

I think some ought to look at their own actions before moaning about Hamish's posts.

    But thats what you're doing!!!!!!!!

If you wish for a house price crash, then you are also wishing for the recession, unemployment, reposession and misery that comes with it.

Nobody..... and I mean nobody..... can have seen what we just went through and not realised that one cannot happen without the other.

Whereas rising prices happen best in times of economic prosperity, good employment, rising wages, economic growth and prosperity.

Which is what the bulls wish for.

Thats because you're trying to skip the first rungs on the ladder.

Buy a flat. Build equity. Meet a nice girl that also bought a flat. Sell your flats for a nice big deposit. Buy a house.

    Thats the way it works.
