I would go with 8p noodles and 4p curry sauce from Mr T. Also any Whoops bread or other reduced yellow label items. Stuff like pasta with sauce, jacket potatos, noodles with veges or home made soup can be done for pence. You should be ok - as long as you stick to your plan
Good luck

I'd buy 1lb beef mince & 1lb lamb mince - (Personally I'd buy good quality as I think its worth paying for).
Use to make Lasange (lasange sheets about 80p in value range) and moussaka - you should easily get x4 portions from each of these. I'd also buy some veggies (frozen spinach about 99p) or some salad things as you may be a light on vitamins...don't forget you can grow salad leaves very easily. We are eating ours now & they make a fab salad.
Best wishes...0 -
Asda have had mince on offer for 50p for 250g
I agree with the veggies and try getting some fruit as well.
Look for basic products they have been the mainstay of many a meal for us
SP Sausages 99p for 20 are a good buy
SP Bag of chicken portions £1.68
You can make loads of meals from these

I bought, for about a tenner:
12 bread rolls (6 have gone in the freezer)
2 packs of noodles
2 tins of beans and sausages
1kg pack of quick cook penne pasta
a pack of potatoes
a pack of bananas
a pack of washing powder (much needed)
1 frozen pizza (on offer for a quid)
a massive bottle of basics squash
2 Tins of tuna
1 pack of basics chillies
Think thats all i got.0 -
Well ive made it until Monday morning so far, only today and tomorrow left to go. Im buying one thing today, at the total cost of (hopefully) about a pound. And thats a couple slices of ham, so i can have ham egg and chips. I think i can get away with that since my shopping only cost 10 pounds. Then tomorrow im going to knock up a quick tomato and chilli pasta, with probably something like scrambled eggs on toast for lunch.
Then on Wednesday, im probably going to do my big shop for the week, 30 quids worth should last me, but hopefully ill spend less. Im going for stuff like Sausages, Bacon, Mince and some chicken, and then lots of veg and sauces etc for quick meals. Im thinking i might go to Asda, they look pretty cheap.0 -

Well done  As you've now managed your challenge, I'll add this to the existing thread on managing on a very small budget

Are you aware of Tesco's policy for taking coupons even if you don't buy the product? That can save a small fortune and make your money go a lot further! Check out the thread on the discounts board on here (think its is called printable coupons or something similar).0

If people are eating these as meals I can see why my GC budget could never be as low as those on the mainland!
This said I'd probably avoid these, although realise when you are skint any food is better than no food!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

also if you want to increase the flavour of cheese in a dish without using more cheese or using milder cheese add in a bit of mustard powder or actual mustard (i bought a 2kg jug for 1 quid on approved foods so i used this)0
