Fill up on 9p noodles, own supermarket brand baked beans, eggs on toast, cheap bread. Or eat at someone else house, like parents etc0

You could also go to your local veg shop and see if they have a 'damaged' section. Ours sells off small bags of various fruit/veg for 25p a bag (past their best but still perfectly edible), get a few different types, a few spuds and you could have veg curry tonight and saturday and maybe jacket potatoes tomorrow.
Ps what a 6 jars of 'mins'?0 -

Everything that has been said so far
keep an eye out for any reductions
in the supermarkets.
last night I was lucky enough to get a
french stick reduced to 15p.I have cut it
into three and frozen it.I got a tin of tomatoe
purree 17p and a block of mature chedder
cheese £1.
On our skint days I intend to cut the
french stiicks through the middle,spread
the purree and sprinkle on plenty of grated
cheese and bake them in the oven (5 to 10 mins)
last time I did this I found one and a half
pieces of bacon in the fridge so I cut it up,
fried it and sprinkled it on the top.
but anything can go on top its
and its a lot cheaper than those
ones Birdseye and Ross make:j:j:j0 -
hope you manage OK
I think most on here have been
in the same situation in the past.:j:j:j0 -
9p noodles and some whoopsie vegetables for a stirfry (you can just about get away with the worcester sauce instead of soy sauce).
More vegetables and a curry sauce. See if you can get some bargain pitta or some reduced price nan.
Beans on toast - again see if you can get a reduced loaf as this can go towards breakfasts as well, or go with the curry.
Do you have anything in the freezer? And flour or other ingredients?
The other thing I used to do when this hit was to go to the coat rack and check evey pocket, thenn do the same with the wardrobe. Amazing how many odd pennies there are to be found. Even 25p helps.
It might be a good idea to sit down now and menu plan and then price up for the period from Saturday until the next pay day? Then you get what you need on Saturday. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
You need to stock up on the cheapest food for a balanced diet namely carbs, protein and veg.
Carbohydrate - I suggest a big bag of cheap pasta or a sack of potatoes.
Protein - lentils
veg - the good news is you can get this free as its nettle season! Pick the young shoots on the top of the plants and boil for about 20 mins until it resembles spinach. Avoid nettles near the ground or on contaminated land near roads, factories etc.
Any money left over I'd spend on something to liven things up a bit, some garlic, tomato sauce etc.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0
