mbaz - well done, you made it! Hope you enjoyed your Starbucks this morning! If your oh thinks you should be able to do this every month, then how about giving him £20 and challenging him to do it! My oh is always asking how much we spend on food, well this half of the we is trying hard not to spend too much at all, his half of the we still grabs and runs in the supermarket! No more though, cos I now ask him how he's going to cook whatever he buys as it doesn't fit our meal plan - still I don't mind the bottles of wine that he magically produces lol!
Elona - I do a spinach and ricotta canelloni with pancakes, I love it but you're right, they take flippin (get it, lol!) ages to make! Sounds nice done with chicken and so much cheese sauce though, might give that a go for the kids.
Dazza32 - nice to know you're keeping up with this thread still, it'd be lovely if you'd share your wisdom about feeding your family so well on your benefits, since you seem to be such an expert at stretching them.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
I hadn't had a chance to post but have read this thread and am sooooo impressed and inspired by you - well done! The fact the family hasn't even noticed just shows how successful you were! I have heard people use not wanting their kids to feel deprived or whatever by a tight budget as an excuse to buy brands, etc, but this just sums it up: they don't have to know! Why would you worry your kids with your finance troubles by letting them know about it?! They don't have to know!
Well done mbaz! Fantasic!Love and compassion to all x0 -

Mbaz well done, congratulations and hugs, enjoy your fab treat, you soooo deserve it!
Meanwhile this lovely thread has inspired my dinner for tonight, I was going to make pasta with chopped veg (no tomatoes for a change) but all that talk of cheese sauce has slightly changed my direction and I shall make macaroni-veg. cheese bake!
Love to all

As you're doing so well, perhaps you'd like to make a donation back to us workers who are keeping you. I paid £364 in National Insurance this month and I have to admit that I'm getting pretty fed up of supporting those who can physically work, but don't.
I work hard for my pay too but I don't begrudge anyone who is trying hard to keep body and soul together in this cash/job strapped economy. It's up to me now and nobody else.0 -
