Morning all!
10 days and counting....!
Didnt have chance to update yesterday as working more much needed overtime! Left hubbie to fend for himself so he was more than happy to do egg and chips for tea.
Used up the last of my berries making a crumble again yesterday may go and pick some more but I also have frozen cubes on mango in the freezer I have just spotted - any suggestions for a nice pud or shall I stick with crumble?

on the subject of tesco value - i love the tesco value chicken noodles (think they are still 9p) on toast with cheese on top... mmmmmmmmm!
There's a thread about value stuff that people have loved, and the curry sauce seems to have got a big thumbs up - the 4p canned one. Apparently it's quite mild.
My dd1 loves the value noodles as well, she has them as a snack quite often.

I've got the 4p curry sauce but haven't used it yet - so look forward to hearing all your views
OH "only" eats the Bachelors Noodles - or so he thinks he! he!
Am cooking liver for dinner tonight - i ordered chicken liver (apparently they don't taste as livery?!?!?!?) but Mr T delivered pigs liver - so have consulted with Delia and apparently leaving them in a bowl of water overnight - reduces the taste (or so i am hoping). Have coated in flour, bunged it in the slowcook with mush, onions, stock, s&p and found a pepper sauce packet mix so threw that in with 1/2 pint milk - fingers crossed!!! will serve with mash, really cheap at a cost of £1.58 (excluding mash), so hoping it's a winner!
mbaz so glad you finally made your crumble! bet it disappeared really quickly0 -
I used red plit lentils to pack out a bolognaise and I am sorry to say it was horrible. DH and DD ate it, but my DS and I couldn't. I hate beans, but used to be able to eat lentil mush in my veggie days ( lentils cooked with tinned tomatoes, onions, peppers and served over rice), but this had a grainy texture. SuziQ - another with a milk fetish! Also for anyone trying to lose weight milk aids weight lose - really.
Sainsbury's dried TVP soya mince has increased in price from 52p a bag in 2006 to 95p now! Nearly 100% in 2 years!
We really like Tesco value curry sauce - just like chip shop curry sauce. As for the value tomato pasta sauce - not as nice as my homemade, but convenient. TEsco and Sainsbury's nice packed out with passata/ tinned toms. Asda's is a bit vinegary, but think it will be nice as a cold pasta salad sauce.0 -
Had another rejig as I have TOO MUCH food left!!! I actually have more meals available than days left til payday!!! Cannot believe it!! Have also been a complete domestic goddess today and have baked buns, a cake and some lovely squidy cookies. I'm so proud of myself I keep going and opening the tins just to look at them!
Still not worked out what to do with my mango chunks though, perhaps I'll google it....
Hope everyone is well!

You are completely amazing! You'll just have to give up the payday takeaway, LOL. (I don't mean it - just enjoy it. You deserve a medal for services to value for money, let alone a takeaway).

What a shame. I haven't tried it myself but I suppose the key may be to err on the side of caution? Same goes for lentils, carrots or anything else added to 'stretch' a meal.Miggy
