If we had harmonisation of benefits across the EU then there would be little point, financially, for them to move. If large numbers continued to move to certain cities, then you could put a 5 year limit where they only receive benefits in the host country, not anywhere else in the EU.
Once they become fully naturalaised EU citizens, and have leanred the laguage and culture of the hist country, it's less likely that they will move elsewhere anyway."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. There might not be financially but their might be socially, or for maximising future possibilties. e.g. maximising English skills might be more advantageous than soe other EU langauges if one is to progress on return to one's own country for promoting oneself as valuable to an employer with international business. (or perhaps more importnatly the perception could be that.)0 -
i think we should have a national pot of benefits -say 1bn a year and that is it. doesn't matter how many claimants there are, they just get less of a percent.
It may be quite good if they all start to kill each other, like the Highlander, so there is only one left, collecting 1bn all to himself.
Thats entertainment.0 -

Bloody hell, I've just re-read this. Either I need to learn the language of my host country (England) or lay off the sauce in the morning! :rotfl:"I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. A NEW report into the trauma of travelling by tube has revealed that London is awash with whining ponces.
The study, commissioned by the London Assembly, found that commuters get a bit tearful when it's all busy and would like £900bn to be spent on ensuring a brand new and completely empty train arrives 14 times a second.
.
.
Engineer Roy Hobbs said: "Tube trains are small so they can fit into the tunnels. If you make the trains bigger than the tunnels, it probably won't work.
"We could make the tunnels bigger but then all the buildings would collapse into big holes in the ground. But of course that would make the trains quieter as there would be no buildings for people to go to work in."
He added: "Shall we give that a try? You f*cking idiots."
