I saw some really lush boots in Russell n Bromley today-only £285!!! :rolleyes:Should have bought both colours.....!!! On the upside , they did give me 50% off new school shoes for DD as I went in there to complain the last ones I paid £42 for only lasted 10 weeks...

(....and I suspect DH has been Xmas shopping in BAH..the call from bank to confirm jewellry purchase somewhat gave it away......)

Anyone else having trouble changing avvies? Keeps saying upload failed....
    Debt-free...and staying that way...

Are any of you good at maths? I'm going to start saving for a masters in January but I can't get my head around how much. I need to save around 3.5k. There'll be two and a half years till it starts, when I'll pay half, then another year till I have to pay the other half. To complicate it more, from Jan 2011 I'll have £90 a month free that I'm currently saving towards debts. Oh, and my 'months' are 4 weeks, so there's 13 in a year. I was going to save £100 a month, but that'll be a real pinch, and I think it's a bit too much given that I can increase it in a year.

Pap, isn't that like torturing yourself, so much chocolate when you can't eat it? I know I couldn't do it, so even more kudos to you!

Firstly ignore calender months and work out how many weeks until you have to pay. Divide by 4 and that'll give you how many "Ames months" you have to make the full payment.

You absolutely NEED £1750 by the time the course starts so divide that amount by the number of Ames Month to find the minimum you need to put away each Ames Month between now and then, regardless of whether you have an extra £90 available or not. (There's 30 calendar months an 2.5 years which works out to just under £60 a month) Anything over this is a reduction in the amount to be saved for the second installment.

I reckon if you can manage the £60 a month between now and Jan 2011 and can add the full £90 to this from then you should be more or less there.

Let me see... (12 x 60)+ (18 x 150) = 3420 - okay you're 80 quid short when the FIRST payment is due so won't need to stress about the money during the year as well as study for your masters...
    26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%
    28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%

got to laugh at your DH SRM, but he would kill the bank for giving him game away! I can't believe they didn't replace the boots, only a 50% reduction shocking!
