It may be cheap, but 4.7kb/sec download speed!!! (8MB/sec = 8000kb/sec).
We've been with Plusnet for 9 days and will be cancelling it tomorrow!

Oh dear, I am thinking of signing up to them. But the max they say I can have is 7MB. Is this good or bad.
Thanks for the warning0 -
They are having a few problems at the moment but they should sort them out soon. It is very hard for an ISP to have a faultless service, using BT's equipment, 100% of the time.0

Well I've been with them for 7 years and I'm happy.
Yes they've had their problems, but haven't all ISP's?
Have you raised the issue with them? Best place to start is their support forums.
Is the above a speedtest or are you downloading stuff? P2P stuff gets heavily restricted at peak times.Dave. :wave:0 -
I was with Plusnet, my speeds were throttled to an almost standstill, I changed to a better provider, my speeds shot up, and have stayed up 24/7 ever since.0

I got a quote from plusnet, they were estimating about 2mb for my line, I'm getting at least 5 with a different ISP. They also seem to have OTT restrictions compared to other providers... And reading this just makes me glad we went elsewhere! On the up

I'm not defending or even commenting on the performance or lack of it from Plusnet but no ISP has control over what speed your line will sync at and they all get their estimates from the BT database. Your line speed is determined entirely by its length and quality together with your own internal phone wiring.Vampiric_Addiction wrote: »I got a quote from plusnet, they were estimating about 2mb for my line, I'm getting at least 5 with a different ISP. The download speed you can achieve is where your choice of ISP has an impact and none will estimate that.0 -
I've been with Plusnet for 13 months and believe me, the experience is infinitely better than the previous 2 years with HOrrange!0

As has already been mentioned, the estimate is just that.
Plusnet estimated I should get 2500. I'm currently getting 5000.
Certainly, if you're a P2P user, I couldn't recommend Plusnet, but for streaming, gaming and general browsing, they're good.Dave. :wave:0
