Choccybix didn't want to read and run, that's such a shame about your neighbour telling your DD! What about christmassy things 'appearing' overnight? Do you have a fireplace that you can shape footprints out of the ash so she knows santa has come down the chimney? Oh and on Xmas eve get her to put out mince pie for santa and a carrot for the reindeers, and then leave the empty wrapper and end of the carrot for her to find in the morning. All things my parents did when I was a wee bairn.
This morning I have:
Made bed
Set up the advent calendar (I have a lovely traditional non-choccie one)
Printed out handouts and notes for presentation
Rose I'm not ignoring your PM, I wrote an answer last night then lost it, I will rewrite later when I have some time.
Might not get a chance to check in til tomorrow, so hugs and love to everyone, and HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Morning all. OOh it's cold!!
Choccybix - :mad:That happened with my DS1 at nursery!! Another older child told him. I was livid & the people at the nursery couldn,t grovel enough. He forgot about it luckily - I think if they want to still believe they will. I can't believe an adult told her tho - I would still be round there arguing with her!
DS2 who is 10 annouced about 12 months ago that the tooth fairy doesn't exist & it's your parents - I tried to explain to him that he needs to believe but he refuses - even when I tell him No Way am I paying for your old teeth, so no more money for teeth for him! He still puts them under his pillow tho but he never moans at me - just says the tooth fairy hasn't been again. I always say "I thought you didn't believe in her" he says "I don't" -

Morning,
Hmmm, Tag was not a happy bunny this morning
I got into bed last night, all snuggly warm ready to read my book. Pulled the quilt over me and felt there was a wet patchUpon further investigation this wet patch was not only on the quilt, but right through it, on to the bottom sheet, through that and onto the quilt I have on top of my mattress topper:rolleyes:. Through that and onto the topper itself. Luckily it hadn't gone onto the mattress.
So I'm stripping my bed at 11.15pm, trying to work out what it was. Then it clicked.
When Sweepy dog wants to come in from outside she sits at the door and barks once. Well, she'd been doing her one bark, 'I want to come ins' last night and I was busy doing stuff so didn't let her in straight away thinking she was in the garden. But when I finally went to let her in she wasn't there
Whilst I'd been having my 'ironing fix' last night she had sneaked under my bed and ended up being shut in my bedroom:rolleyes: Hence bark to come out cos she needed a wee:rolleyes: So it wasnt her fault really but why wee on my bed?:rolleyes:
Anyway, if I'm honest I'm not to bothered. Because it has finally made me get my backside into gear and this morning I have bought a new bed on Ebay and a new mattress topper and a new quilt.Xmas present to myself.:p The mattress I have got at the moment is the hardest most uncomfortable one possible I think.
Right enough rambling off to fly and warm up a bit. Catch you later.0 -
Craftyscholar wrote: »vanilla - I have a feeling the mothers are put under pressure to name the father so CSA can chase them for money - but doesn't seem right when there is no possibility of your OH having even met the girl.
OK first :coffee:nearly finished - need to do something other than sit here.
Your right Crafty. They take money out of your benefits if you refuse to give the fathers details unless you can supply police/court/womens aid papers saying you would be in danger if they were to contact them.
(please don't all think badly of me but) when OH was pursued by the CSA for his DS. I wrote them a massive letter telling them that DS only satyed at most 2 nights per week with his mum, was at OH mums every day to be looked after/fed/watered etc and that we paid OH mum for food etc and that we also bought DS whatever he needed. We got a letter back saying he had to pay £0.00 and still get a letter every year saying the same and he's 23 now! I just felt there was no way I was paying for DS upkeep to his mum when he was never there.
Anyway Vanilla I hope you get it all sorted and soon what a worry hanging over you, huge hugs honey xI'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -

Hi everyone. I am back from the wedding weekend away. We came back late as DH really isn't up to much and he had to drive. The wedding was lovely and I got to spend loads of time with my sister and we had loads of fun.
Tag, How annoying to find a wet bed late at night but you have a positive, a new bed! A bit pricey though.
It is so cold here. The house still hasn't warmed up yet.
My list for today.
Parcel up ebay sales and post before 12 as half day closing.
Write cards for Australia etc and post.
Parcel up and post prem baby hats, blanket squares and sailors' hats.
Empty suitcases and sort clothes.
Check bank balance and pay bills
Try to put together blinds I got on Freegle with a bag of random fixings
Visit friend in hospital if I can get DH out of bed.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi everyone
Went missing last week - too much awfulness going on amongst my relatives. Family has now imploded leaving no-one talking to each other (not even to me, because I made the stupid mistake of trying to act as the honest man in the middle of them all!). The mess is pretty horrible this time, so not sure when and if it will ever get sorted.
So we've gone insular for a while: DH, DD and myself, just cuddled up together and hurting a bit, but we'll just have to tough it out for a while.
DD got good news at the end of last week: she was successful in her music audition back in October (thanks for the vibes, ladies) and has been chosen for the National Children's Orchestra to play the cello. She's over the moon about this - but has no relatives now to share it with! Not even her Gran who won't speak to her :embarasse. That's really very tough, I think.
Anyhow, must shift myself, because the house is starting to look a bit sad. I'll do the kitchen today, I think, because I have some stock etc to make. Got a stinking cold, but must get going...
Let's see:
