I just cannot understand why this government is intent on setting up a whole swathe of society where working is for mugs. Unless they see their voters there.
By the way, I worked from when I was 16 up until 2007 (8 years) I can't work now so I'm at uni, preparing for when I can work. All 4 of my sisters work, in jobs ranging from groundskeeping to management, to insurance systems analyst. My dad now works too, now he hasn't got so many kids to look after. We were brought up knowing a job is better than to be sat on your !!!! doing buggar all every single day. I don't vote Labour, and I never will, the policies they've brought in haven't changed anything, except making people stay on benefits for longer and having more kids as they'll think they'll get a bigger house. ILW, it looks like you just read the bits you wanted, instead of it all.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

I wonder if either of Mum or Dad have ever had a job in this country? It seems to be the way that those who put the least in, get the most out. No doubt those 8 kids will grow up to realise that it pays to be shiftless in this country. Generations of layabouts spawning more layabouts until the welfare state collapses under the weight of it all."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0

Sorry if I am missing something, but we seem to be in complete agreement.0 -
You can look it up based on the postcode. https://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/Secure/Default.aspxlostinrates wrote: »urgh, trying to do entitled to and it involves pastures new type research...what do we think the council tax bill would be?
Then there's the "how many rooms you are entitled to" listing
https://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/Secure/LHASearchIntro.aspx - once you tick the box the bedroom calculator is enabled.0 -

To be honest, I wonder if they actually speak any English? With all the various leaflets and documents translated into dozens of languages there is really no requirement anymore to learn the langugage of their chosen homeland.0 -
I wish someone would actually come on here and attempt to defend this. It all seems a bit one sided.0

This couple will tell everyone back home in Somalia how kind and generous the British are, it'll foster excellent links between these two great countries. It will also encourage immigration of people from that world renouned technically and academically advanced country, helping to keep Great Britain at the forefront of science.
This can only be good for the British people. It's worth this money twice over."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -
These figures are non taxable and to get this in your pay packet you would need to earn £176,630 pa.The only thing that is constant is change.0
