I unscrewed mine stuffed a pillow in it and screwd it back on.
I did check with the plumber who fitted our boiler and he said we had more than enough vents for our needs as there are vents everywhere.0 -
gaffer tape will do the job ok and its cheap.
cleaning it off isnt the best job in the world though!
but a new vent cover is only 1 or 2 quid.Get some gorm.0 -

'I'm getting a lot of mould in my bedroom and we don't know why'
When it does buy some mould killer spray and get an anti mould paint additive to redecorate with.
Or alternatively ring your landlord after you've taken the tape off or removed the pillow and complain to him about the mould and if he doesn't sort it you'll goto environmental health dept etc etc
The good thing is it's attitudes like this that keep people like me in business,

What about taping some sheets of cotton wool on the inside, will let the air flow but maybe not as drafty? just an idea0
