Lloyds Tsb

 Hi everyone
I had a loan 6 years ago with Lloyds Tsb then borrowed more money a year later. The PPI was a lump sum of 3K then it went to 4K on the new loan. I have tried to claim for 7K plus 8% interest am I correct or must I only claim for one sum? Also I have sent loads of letters and they have not said nay or yay in over 14 weeks but still no response other than they have not made up their minds yet, is it a good idea to ring them to try and get them to pull their finger out?
Many thanks

Hello and welcome.;)
You can reclaim for all you have paid in PPI, plus interest etc.
You do have the right to take your complaint to the finanical ombudsman service (FOS) if you hear absolutely nothing by 8 weeks.
You can do this by either ringing the FOS or by downloading and printing off the form from the FOS website, and enclose copies of any documents you have to support your complaint, and let them know 14 weeks have passed and you've no response from Lloyds TSB.
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
Did you actually receive any letter from Lloyds to acknowledge they received your letter of complaint?
You could always try chasing Lloyds TSB up, and give them your own timescale to get back to you if you want to, say 7-14 days or you will take this to the FOS.
Please be aware though it may take some time with the FOS, but usually still worth it if the bank does not resolve this.;)
Good luck, please keep us posted, cheers.

Hi
Thank you for the reply from a legend of this forum.
I got a pompous etter a couple of weeks ago saying no decision has been made as they need more time despite having my complaint since the end of August. So I fired off another recorded letter saying they have 14 days or I will go to the FOS, I claimed against AA and Citifinacial and go refunds of £2.5k within 6 weeks. I know Lloyds are pretty useless in general, should I ring them before the 14 days is out of hold fire?0 -

Bless you, your very welcome.:A;)
This is Lloyds all over, in fact I have a few with them ongoing now, and not expecting them to rush with them, these are in regards of Loan PPI, the other was a credit card ppi in which that was successful earlier in the year, although with the FOS who resolved this.
Think they know now to not mess about after the other one.
I did receive their standard letters on this one to confirm they received my letters and they will get back by 4 weeks with a decision, but not holding much hope, if I remember correctly they were over their timescale on the credit card complaint.
Yes give them a call, no harm in doing that either, keep them on their toes hun, you will get there I'm sure.
Was meant to add, that since all the news in the media recently of the mis selling and complaints of PPI, Lloyds were also mentioned, since this they seem to have mellowed and now paying out, maybe this could be the reason for the delay, lets hope you hear soon with a positive result, but your doing the right thing by chasing this up.The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I too have an outstanding PPI claim with Lloyds TSB. Now, i've banked with Lloyds since i was 16 so i know they are pretty much useless, but even so i wasn't expecting to still not have a resolution to a complint 3 months later!! I sent my original letter into them in September to which i recieved the expected 'we'll look into it and get back to you within 8 weeks' response, but since then absolutely nothing. I've phoned them numerous times and every time i get 'you can take it to the FOS if you want - we can't tell you how long it's going to take' (really useful info, thanks!), but i don't want to go to the FOS, i just want them to bloody well resolve my compliant, and was perhaps foolish to expect that they would do this within the time that THEY specified, but 3 months?!? Shocking service from Lloyds as always.0

Hi Matt.
Yes I agree with you.
Very shocking service indeed, however with the shoe being on the other foot, its a different matter again, I have actually gone to the FOS about the unfairness, also the way we have been treated by supplying the evidence, and they are actually looking into this matter for us.
In regards of the other cases that we have ongoing with lloyds right now as well, I'm not actually expecting them to be in no hurry to get back, as you know yourself what they are like.
Good luck with yours anyway.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Same story that I got when I phoned them today, so I went online on the FSA's website and got loads of great tit bits regarding what has been going wrong with the misselling of PPI. I am going to write a long long letter with all the info I gathered and offer 75% (£5.5K) of the claim within 14 days or Im off too the FOS
So I dont hold out much hope for my credit card PPI refunded within the 8 weeks.

THEY ARE ASKING THEM FOR REPLYS TOO NOW, BUT STILL THEY CAN'T GET REPLYS FROM THEM, SO ITS NOW BEING PASSED TO THE OMBUDSMAN, WISH ME LUCK, IF I KNEW WHAT I KNOW NOW, ABOUT THE LLOYDS I WOULD RING THE FOS,..ASAP, OR RING, RING THE LLOYDS, BUT BEST OF ALL WRITE, WRITE AND WRITE TO THEM, TRACK ALL THE LETTERS, ASK FOR A FINAL RESPONSE ASAP

Hi all
Thank you for all the wonderful advice on here :T
I am in the process of getting my paperwork for the loans - yes plural
that I have had over the years wth LTSB. I have so far written twice and rang twice just to try and get copies of all the relevant paperwork. How hard is it to send me what you said you would? I did have a result though as in when the post came on Friday I had a letter from them enclosing copies of my original loan docs from 2002!!! Which they told me on the phone that they did not have?! So when I rang again the lovely young lady said that she will send me out copies of everything else. I live in hope.
