Im also a tad annoyed as the £3.50 voucher I retrieved from the cashier at Tescadiddles on Fri. doesnt appear to be valid? might have to ring them up. this was the voucher that I handed over but the discount wasnt applied. all very strange. does anyone know if you don't spend a voucher, do you get it again as part of your next lot of points vouchers ? I can't see how this can be the case however as the vouchers are valid for two years??
No you don't get it sent out again. If they did that, then you could spend it twice......

Sounds as if it was scanned and the computer recognised it, hence no longer valid. But no idea why it wasn't knocked off your shopping if it got that far through the system

    Morning all :D

Just updating today's food shop £51.63 in total so very pleased. I also got a Stollen cake as a treat for DH & I ;)

I did my meal plans through to the end of December yesterday & the accompanying shopping lists so I have no excuse for buying half the shop up 'cos it's Christmas' We have our christmas lunch on christmas eve this year (the 6 of us) and my parents are coming on christmas day for hot roast gammon & the usual things to go with it. Soup or melon salad will be the starter & I'll make a fresh fruit salad and a cake/mince pies for dessert but I'm going to buy a nice ice cream as well.

Oh well enough wittering from me :o I'm off to make the fab soda bread recipe from yesterday now :T
  • LongTallSally, the recipe said salad potatoes and we tend to have similar ones from the allotment (Anya - like Pink Fir Apple). The baby new potatoes from the shops work well also - from experience. Just cut any larger ones to make sure they are all a similar enough size.

But if you wanted to use regular potatoes, I'd say you could - especially any that are a bit waxier rather than flourier. (So UK preferences rather than Irish ones). Probably peel them (unless you think the skins are ok for eating) and chop into reasonably large chunks - size would dictate cooking time. Cook for as long, roughly, as you'd do roasties of that size and then check if cooked with a knife. It might also work as a sliced potato dish - but you'd have to be careful about getting the sauce spooned over every layer and mixing in the chorizo slices.

    Hello Everyone

A small spend today as I needed some of those foil trays and some water filters. DH collected these for me, so that meant I wasn't tempted. He did however, treat me to a large bar of choccie (I will share:D) as I have been feeling a tad low lately.......don't know what's got into me:confused:

Two naughty cooking nights where dinner revolved mostly around Eggs and Oven Chips:o. Ie Tuesday evening Egg, Bacon Chips & Beans , Weds evening, Cheese Omelette, Peas and Chips. In my defense I haven't been feeling 100% and am beginning to wonder if I have some bug or other.

Must try and get myself into gear soon, as I still need to make the sausages, sausagemeat and sausage rolls for Xmas. I still have money in my December budget..........but I don't think it's going to be enough as we are feeding visiting family over Xmas. Just got to do my best.

    Have a nice evening everyone.
