Hello again,
if it helps ........You know the hammer price on this car compare that to a listing say using networkq.co.uk/buying/value-your-car/
only you can really decide...
But you do have one very valuable rare tool at your disposal.... the guts to bid at an auction. There are thousands of people who will be prepared to laugh if you make a mistake , but try to remember that not everybody on the floor of the saleroom are unconshionable vicious vagabonds, there are some who will deliberately drop out if they spot somebody genuine who obvoiusly is trying to buy themselves a cheap runner.
Be proud of your scar..... in fact keep it as a reminder and when you are driving the car of your dreams that you have purchased honestly, without ripping anybody off, at a fantastic price you can glance across and smile.................

they love perching on the steering wheel:D, and I know.........

OP you may aswell let it go and take the experience on the chin auctioneers are supposed to say weather the car is in good mechanical order with no majour mechanical problems at point of auction. but saying this the onus is on you to look around the car and inspect before the auction starts.
eventhough it passed mot the gasket gone may have not effected the emissions thus passing and being a legal mot.
youll be wasteing time and effort ink, and money,
72hr warrenty is an option at auctions if you pay for it.0 -

a lesson learnt, never impulse buy on anything unless you've checked it out
the best you can. I'll never be caught with my trousers down again.

I believe the Hollywood style crush into a cube is also fairly rare that a scrappy has such machinery. When folk were looking for one for a magazine article, they had to travel quite a wee bit to get to one.
Most barely crush them now- more disassemble and leave 'em!0 -
most are stripped to resell good part the shell itself are either crushed or collected to be crushed some store the car and strip slowly as arts are required and some sell the write offs to be repaired! like this company http://www.autobreakers-wales.com/ i came across shocks me how the an sell it if theyve been told to dispose of it by order of insurers.flyingscotno1 wrote: »I believe the Hollywood style crush into a cube is also fairly rare that a scrappy has such machinery. If you see an old car at auction...remember that the last owner had a reason to sell it and a reason why the dealer wants to lose it. Lots of cars at my local scrappy with the Camden Motors winscreen labels and auction details as they are just had it. If the car was any good, it would probably have not needed trading in as a distress purchase.
My local auction house has a 2 hour after sale test, but only cars over £1000 qualify. Anything sold below is sold as seen.
Sorry you had a rough deal, but please avoid anything in auction that looks like a trade in. There is lots of good cars at auction, but you win some you lose some.0
