HTC HD2 vs Iphone
I know there is no definitive answer to this but am still interested in peoples opinion.
I have recently got a HD2 on a really good deal with T mobile with all the texts, minutes and internet I need. I am very tempted though to sell it without using it on Ebay (hopefully could get £450- £500 and then pay a bit extra for the iphone. Which shouldnt be more than an extra £80-100 and then just get the phone unlocked.
Im just wondering firstly whether people think its worth the hassle for the Iphone and secondly whether its worth taking the risk of getting it unlocked?

personally i think the HTC HD2 is a better phone than the iphone, hardware wise it is undoubtedly so but if windows however well skinned isnt your cup of tea go for it.
I didnt think the HD2's were locked, mine isnt but i didnt get it direct from them, be careful who unlocks it, its a very new phone so there woulnt be much experience with it. If you must unlock it see if tmobile will give you an unlock directly.0 -
Thanks for the advise, I think what I will do is give the HD2 a weeks trial see how I get on with it and if I dont like it sell it and while I probably wont get as much for it at least I will have tried.
Sorry I meant get the iphone unlocked to work on Tmobile if i sold the HD2.0 -
You can get the iPhone officially unlocked when bought from O2 - Although PAYG you have to wait a year.If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)0

Steve's on about jailbreaking, which is possible on the iPhone. Not sure on which site you can dowload it from, but do a Google search and see which one the majority of sites reccomend for the 3GS** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Can I ask what maybe a stupid question but what is the difference between jail breaking and unlocking an iphone? as I had assumed it was the same thing.
All I would want to do is unlock the phone so that it could work with a TMobile sim but before doing that I need to weigh up whether its worth the risk of waivering the warranty and any subsequent problems that it could cause.0 -
I think jailbreaking allows you to remove operator branding, use non paid for apps whereas unlocking is releasing the phones network lock allowing one to put another sim in. Unlocking is usually permitted to be discussed on public forums, jailbreaking is usually not because of what it allows you to do (i.e. you can get a network operator to unlock you phone but they certainly won't jailbreak it).0

Personally all I would want is to unlock it and use another Sim in it and hopefully it would work as normal. I am not interested in using other stuff on it. Although I am not sure if it would also need to be jail breaked as well
