Yup...snowing in Brighton now and settling too. It looks lovely but I am officially a grumpy old person now as all I can think about is the inconvenience...work and stuff as this is the time of year we make the ££££ to see us through the quiet months.
I have to catch public transport tomorrow. :rotfl: Snow here and some settling
I'm taking bets my train company won't be able to run trains.0 -

Maybe we should ask Martin if we can have our own board? The " Nice people board ", makes a great change from all the vitriol and insults that go on all the time.0

No sign of snow here in the northwest, such a shame because I have the best sledge ever. My dad made it for my children and it really does go faster than anyone elses. Children all grown up now and dad no longer with us but the sledge is still going strong - pity it hardly ever snows here.0

The West is warmer than the East ... but wetter. We don't get the heatwaves you lot get either.
Its wetter, but I think generally a little warmer too, in SW.0 -
Don't think you're going to get it on the western side. It's just us easties. I just made it home in time
Still have nightmare memories of the big snow in, when was it, 2005 / 2006 or was it even earlier? It took me 12 1/2 hours to get home from work that night!!
I remember early 2000's, maybe 2002 ish (could be later, memories does go a bit eek at times)...sat at work watching the snow coming down really heavily knowing I am 10 miles from home, the temp is dropping and I didn't finish until 10.15pm.
We were finally let out of work early (9.15) as it was really closing in but I wasn't too worried about the main road, the A14, as being the main road it should be fine.
It wasn't....complete white out, had to drive at no more than 10 miles an hour (if that!) and it took me hours to get home.
Apparently I was as white as a sheet and shaking when I got in, I can't remember as I think I was at sheer terror stage! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I think we were living in London in the big snow before this years. So I think might have been earlier than 2006. Not sure though. The snow stayed for AGES in our road and it was so pretty.0 -

I can't remember much snow in the last decade, apart from last winter's, but I've been in the South West.
If one is old enough, The Big Snow was 1963. That night, I was in detention, as usual, but I just made it onto the last bus that got through to our town, twelve miles from school. If I'd missed that, I'd have been marooned wearing my school uniform for 3 days!
The following morning, I jumped out of my first floor window into the drift outside. One look at the main road and I knew the rest of the week was holiday!:D0
