Sounds like a catfish (wels) they get teritorial when looking after there young and I think there are documented cases of them biting swimmers in to keep them away.

They did a test and they think if one could latch on and hold (big if the hold if you were kicking) 20lb of force would drag under the average swimmer.

Not many people know that (best Michael Caine accent).

Cat fish: does it taste good? Should I get my revenge? People did fish out of that one too...(I was surprised, I didn't think fishing and the disruption of dogs swimming would be a good match.)

Not as I aware another bottom feeder. So you may need your smoker again.

You might need to get a bigger smoker for a big one though.

    No I didn't, I just have a vivid imagination ;)

I've only been fishing a couple of times. Boring! Can't see the point.

Friends are well into it. There is a very interesting correlation between them going fishing, & lots of rainfall!

The one time i did go & actively partake, I was trying to get the hang of it. I caught nothing, & I suppose that didn't help. With my very last effort at casting, I thought to myself I'd really give it some welly. So I tried to cast as far out as possible. I forgot to let go of the line, & the hook flew forward, & then straight back to me. The line wrapped around my head & i can recall standing there watching the hook at the end appear in peripheral vision, go across, go away & come back into view again. It went round & round, & eventually hooked into my ear lobe.

So the only thing I caught, was me.
    & I don't wanna eat me!

It's a great excuse to sit out in the middle of nowhere and not do much at all other than take in your surroundings.
If you are lucky you can be a bit cave man/woman enjoy a catch and feel good that you put it back with minimal upset to the fish. :)
